Give your teen real-world skills this summer! Red Cross Babysitter Training + Adult & Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED starts next week at the Pozez JCC.

Wednesday–Friday, August 12–14 from 10:30 AM–2:00 PM
Ages 11–16

Your teen will learn feeding, diapering, safe handling of children and infants, safety awareness, and emergency response, plus earn a 10-year Babysitter's Training certification and a 2-year Adult & Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED certification upon completion.

This is a blended learning course: participants complete an online portion (about 2 hours) before attending all three in-person sessions. Note that participants should ideally weigh at least 85–90 lbs to fully participate in the CPR skills portion.

Honeymoon Israel is heading to Israel from the DMV January 11–18, 2027, and applications are now open.

This trip is for couples early in their relationship, where at least one partner is Jewish, from every kind of background: interfaith, multicultural, LGBTQ+, and everything in between. Whether you grew up steeped in tradition or you're just starting to ask questions, there's a place for you here. The heavily subsidized trip fee is only $500 per couple.

Today is Tu B'Av, the Jewish Day of Love!

The 15th of Av goes way back to the Mishnah, when unmarried women would dress in white and dance in the vineyards under the full moon, looking for a match. It faded from the calendar for centuries, but modern Israel brought it back to life, and today it's celebrated a bit like a Jewish Valentine's Day.

Sunday's "Jews Rock: A Tradition in Stone" program was a truly hands-on experience!

Master stone sculptor/carver/mason Greg Goldner took us on a journey through the connection between stone and Jewish tradition.

And then came the best part: attendees picked up their own tools and tried light stone carving themselves.
