Robinson Rifle Team

Season Finale: The Team valiantly fought to second place in the 21 FEB 26 Potomac High School Rifle League Regional Finals, falling to West Springfield who posted 2439.6 points to our 2408.9.

Our top athletes were Annika C (620.6), Genevieve S (607.5), and Matthew A (595.1).

The League recognized several team members this season including Annika C (All Metro), Genevieve S and Matthew A (All Conference), and Marcus A (Honorable Mention).

Congratulations to the entire team on a memorable season and best of luck to our seniors in their post-graduation endeavors. Those who remain, it’s back to club practice and looking forward to welcoming the next freshman class to our sport with an eye on the 2028 Summer Olympics!

Senior Night

Tonight, following Senior Recognition Night, the Ram Rifle Team took a heart breaking 3.6 point loss to the Woodson Cavaliers 1588.5 to 1584.9. The Robinson Rifle Team ends the Potomac High School League regular season with a record of 5 wins and 2 losses. Our top 3 shooters were Annika C 407.6, Sienna W 400.4 and Genevieve S 395.0. Our next match is the PHSRL Regional Match, winner take all format, on February 21st.

In a Saturday match, the Robinson Rifle team was victorious against the Mavericks, 1582.9 to 1544.3 to raise their record to 5 wins to 1 loss with only one regular season match remaining in the 2025-2026 season. Our top three scorers were Annika C 409.6, Genevieve S 395.2 and Matthew A 394.2. Our final regular season match will be against Woodson High School on Wednesday 4 February. We will be honoring our senior team members before the match at 5pm.

CMP to Present Up to $1 Million in Scholarships, Including One $40,000 Award

The CMP is proud to announce a substantially enhanced Scholarship Program for the 2025-2026 school year, now awarding up to $1 million to students involved in marksmanship activities!

In the past, one-time scholarship amounts of $1,000, $3,000 and $5,000 were presented, along with select four-year recurring $5,000 scholarships ($20,000 in total over four years).

After careful consideration, the CMP Scholarship Committee has decided to no longer offer one-time $1,000 scholarships to junior marksmanship athletes in order to provide more substantial support through $3,000, $10,000, $20,000 and $40,000 scholarships.

The CMP will be awarding over 250 one-year $3,000 scholarships, 15 one-year $10,000 scholarships and one $40,000 scholarship ($10,000 each year over four years) to exemplary students.

In Potomac High School Rifle League action on Wednesday night, the Robinson Rams fell to the undefeated West Springfield Spartans 1615.9 to 1602.0. The Rams now have 4 wins and 1 loss on the season. Our top 3 shooters were Annika C 418.8, Marcus A 397.8 and Genevieve S 394.8. Annika’s 418.8 not only broke the school/team record (411.7), but also the league record (416.7). Our next match is on 31 January against the multi-school Mavericks.

In Wednesday night’s match, the Robinson Rifle Team overwhelmed the Centreville Wildcats with a season high score of 1613.1 to 1387.8. Our top three shooters were Annika C 411.3, Marcus A 401.9 and Genevieve S 400.2. Our next match is on Wednesday 21 January against our cross-town rivals from West Springfield High School.

On Saturday, the Ram Rifle team scored their third victory of the season against the Lake Braddock Bruins 1595.6 to 1575.7. Our top three shooters were Annika C 410.0, Genevieve S 401.1 and Matthew A 393.1. Our next match is on Wednesday against Centreville High School.
