We are excited to announce our return to high school volleyball officiating across Northern Virginia.

Beginning this season, we will once again provide officials for boys’ and girls’ volleyball throughout Fairfax County, Loudoun County, and the surrounding region.

MAC helped build volleyball officiating in Northern Virginia when the sport first arrived in 1999, training and developing officials while supporting the growth of the game. Now, after a brief hiatus, we are proud to return and continue that tradition.

Volleyball is growing rapidly, with boys’ volleyball adding new energy and opportunity alongside the established girls’ game. We’re excited to be part of this next chapter.

If you’re interested in getting involved, now is a great time to join. Officiating offers flexible scheduling, competitive pay, and a chance to stay connected to the game.

This photo means a lot more than it might look like at first glance.

Brennan Miller, Chris Segal, Ryan Wills and Dan Merzel are all now full time MLB umpires. What many people may not realize is that every one of them was trained by John Porter.

The picture was taken during the Nationals vs Orioles exhibition game on March 23, and it is a powerful reminder of the impact John has had on this profession. For years he has dedicated himself to teaching, mentoring and pushing umpires to reach their potential.

A lot of people wear a big league uniform today because John Porter believed in them first!
