Years ago, Rick Gonzalez of Kean College and Johnny “J-Rock” Johnson of TCNJ went to absolute war on the mat. Two top-tier competitors representing two powerhouse programs of the era, they left everything out there—pushing each other to the absolute limit on their journeys toward becoming All-Americans.

But the same battles that once divided them ultimately forged an unbreakable bond.

Wrestling is a unique beast. It puts you through the fire with someone until you realize the guy across from you is exactly the person you want in your corner for life. It takes a special kind of respect to look at the competitor who pushed you the hardest and realize he became the person you trust the most.

Proof that the greatest victories in sports aren’t always the titles. Sometimes, it’s the lifelong brotherhood you build along the way.

Then: Fierce rivals.
Now: Close friends with a legendary bond.

Our Novice Youth Wrestling Program begins this September! Meticulously designed and overseen by Coach Rick Gonzalez, this program helps young wrestlers build confidence, technique, discipline, and a strong foundation from the very beginning.

Rick’s All American is proud to announce that Alex Perez and Fiona Gough will be coaching our wrestling program this upcoming season!

🔥 COACH ALEX PEREZ

A Wayne Valley standout, Alex completed his high-school career with an impressive 42–23 record. He captured the 2025 NJSIAA District 7 Championship at 165 pounds and finished his career by winning his bracket at the 2025 Garden State High School Wrestling All-Star Classic!

🔥 COACH FIONA GOUGH

Fiona made history as Wayne Valley’s first female wrestler before continuing her development at SPIRE Academy as part of its inaugural women’s wrestling program. Her accomplishments include:

🥉 Third place at the 2024 JCU Women’s Open
🏅 Fourth place at the 2025 North I Girls Regional at 126 pounds
🥇 First place in her bracket at the 2025 Garden State High School Wrestling All-Star Classic

Together, Alex and Fiona bring high-level competitive experience, toughness, discipline and a genuine passion for helping young athletes grow.

Our wrestlers will develop strong fundamentals, technique, conditioning, confidence and the mindset needed to succeed—both on and off the mat!

We’re fired up to have Alex and Fiona leading the way at Rick’s All American. Get ready for an exciting 2026–2027 wrestling season!
