Join Fairfield First Fridays in Central Park for a Celebration!

Join Fairfield First Fridays Art Walk on Friday, July 3rd, from 6 to 10pm in Central Park for a Celebration In Central Park! There will be live music by The Dave Leffler Quartet from 6-7 and Blu Stu from 7-10 in the gazebo. Come dance the night away with your friends and community! There will be great music, local art and craft vendors, lawn games, our large foam block play area for the younger children and more!

Jefferson County Trails Council will announce the winners of the annual Scavenger Hunt. This event is a great way to get out and see all the trails Fairfield and Jefferson County have to offer.

While you are downtown don’t forget to check out the art displays around the square. The Summer Art Installation "Firecracker" in celebration of our country's 250th Anniversary, with 20 art creations by local artists and groups. Hickenbottom Inc donated the PVC pipes for this project. Artists include Shelley Urban and her father Tom, Phoebe Fiedler, Mike Pech, Suzan Kessel, FHS Art Student, Chaz Alley, Mendy McAdams & Hayden, Claire Reid, Connie Boyer, Jeanne Skopin, Gigi Gifts & Signs, Chuck & Terri Drobny, Victoria Rose, Ashley Worley & 1st Baptist Church, Colin Faulkner.

There will be many galleries, venues, restaurants, and shops open for the evening, just a few are listed below:

Fairfield Art Association (Inside the Civic Center)- The Summer Art Installation "Firecracker" celebrating our country's 250th Anniversary will also open on June 6th with 20 art creations by local artists and groups. The display will be downtown around the square & up Main Street for the summer. Hickenbottom Inc donated the PVC pipes for this project. Artists include Shelley Urban and her father Tom, Phoebe Fiedler, Mike Pech, Suzan Kessel, FHS Art Student, Chaz Alley, Mendy McAdams & Hayden, Claire Reid, Connie Boyer, Jeanne Skopin, Gigi Gifts & Signs, Chuck & Terri Drobny, Victoria Rose, Ashley Worley & 1st Baptist Church, Colin Faulkner. Several artists are working on two pipes. Sales gallery will be closed.

Fairfield Public Library- 104 W. Adams Ave.- Join “The Founders’ Bookshelf” Discussion -Explore the ideas that helped shape the United States through accessible discussions of influential texts, including Common Sense by Thomas Paine, The Wealth of Nations by Adam Smith, Two Treatises of Government by John Locke, and The Spirit of the Laws by Montesquieu. No advance reading is required—we'll provide excerpts and handouts. Everyone is welcome. Friday, July 3 at 1:30 PM • Fairfield Public Library. Watch 1776—The Musical! Celebrate the nation's founding with a screening of the Tony Award-winning musical. Free popcorn and refreshments will be provided. Friday, July 3 at 6:30 PM

Foxy Curation’s- 52 S. Main St. Always a fun store, so many unique and fun gift items, as well as home décor, books, and more. Open until 9pm on Friday

GG’s Signs and Designs- 51 W. Broadway Ave #102 GG's will be open from 10am to 9pm! Make sure not to miss stopping in this shop! Such cute items, all handmade-homemade! Fun new shop!

ICON Gallery- 58 N. Main St. Continuing in the Main Gallery: "Selections" A selection of diverse works by well-known to unknown, globally known to locally known, living and dead. Curator, Bill Teeple, had fun choosing works from the ICON permanent collection, local artists and local collectors. Opening in the Hudson Gallery at ICON: "Paintings From Two Worlds" Shiva Linga paintings from the ICON Collection and paintings by Robert Hoerlein inspired by ICON's Shiva Linga paintings. First Friday hours: 6:30 to 10:00.

Vino Del Mundo- 56 S. Main St. – Stop in for a tasting of some of Ken’s favorite Summer Sippers- 5:00- 7:30pm.

Willow & Bright-58 S. Main St. - Did you know they just added an adorable “Littles” section?!?!? This fantastic store now has even more options and more cute items!

Celebration Activities Reminder: on Thursday July 2nd, there will be a parade (6pm) with an Ice Cream Social following in Central Park. There will be live music by John & Brian the Acoustic Duo from 7-9pm. Many of the local shops and businesses will stay open late on Thursday! Please remember to support local!

On Saturday, July 4th the 34th Army Band Concert will be held at the Fairfield Arts and Convention Center at 10am, followed by a time capsule opening on the grounds of the Courthouse, and later that evening fireworks at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds.
