Hold, Move, Exit!
One of the most important water safety skills we teach is knowing what to do if a child finds themselves in the water unexpectedly.
In this activity, swimmers practice holding onto the wall, monkey walking along the edge to a safe area, and exiting at the stairs if they are unable to climb out on their own.
These skills help children stay calm, make safe choices, and build confidence around the water. Every lesson is designed with water safety as the priority.

Listen, Swim, Learn!
This little swimmer is learning to follow directions, respond to verbal cues, and move confidently through the water from the steps to the mat.
By waiting for the instructor’s signal before starting, swimmers build important water safety habits while developing body control, water orientation, and confidence. Activities like this also teach swimmers how to safely reach and climb out onto a mat, an important skill that strengthens independence and water safety awareness.
Each small accomplishment helps create a stronger foundation for future swimming skills.
Building confidence and water safety one swim at a time.

Changing Directions with Confidence!
This little swimmer is working on an important developmental skill: floating on her back and then changing direction by bending at the belly to transition back toward the stairs.
Learning how to move from a back float into a purposeful change of direction helps swimmers develop body awareness, balance, and control in the water. These foundational skills build confidence and support greater independence as swimmers learn to navigate their aquatic environment safely.
Every small step forward is part of a bigger journey toward becoming a confident swimmer!

Listen, Go, Swim!
This little swimmer is building confidence and independence by moving from the steps to the instructor underwater, guided by verbal cues every step of the way.
Verbal cues play an important role in our lessons. They help children understand when it is safe to enter the water and let them know that both the instructor and parent are ready for them to begin. Learning to wait, listen, and respond appropriately is an important part of developing water safety awareness.
Activities like this also help swimmers improve water orientation, body control, and confidence as they move independently toward a trusted adult.
Building water safety skills one small success at a time.

T, X, Pencil… Backstroke in Progress!
Learning backstroke starts with understanding body position. In this lesson, our swimmer is working through the T, X, and Pencil postures that help build balance, body awareness, and proper alignment in the water.
By practicing these positions, swimmers develop the foundation needed for a strong and efficient elementary backstroke while gaining confidence moving independently on their backs.
