A message from his Mom:

So… this is my full-blown, unapologetic momma bear moment.

I don’t usually share much about our family online — we tend to keep things pretty close to the vest. But some moments deserve to be seen.

We’ve decided to enter Leo in the National Junior Ranger competition — and while voting doesn’t open until May 19, I’m already out here waving the “Look at this amazing kid” flag with no shame.

At just 6 years old, Leo has faced more than most of us will in a lifetime — from a brain tumor diagnosis to epilepsy, and moments that would bring most people to their knees.
And somehow… he’s come out stronger.
Not just stronger — more joyful, more curious, and more excited about simply living every day to the fullest.

Nature has always been his refuge. He sees magic in the smallest things — dirt, bugs, rocks (so many rocks), frogs, and snakes (yep… actual snakes 😬).

This competition isn’t just about a title. It’s a chance to celebrate everything that’s carried him through.

🦊 If we win, the prize will help us fund the one-on-one aide Leo needs to safely participate in the outdoor programs he loves — including a wilderness school that absolutely lights him up.
Because of his medical history, Leo requires dedicated support for safety — and unfortunately, those costs are significant and not covered by insurance.
This would truly level the playing field and ensure he doesn’t have to miss a minute of the things that bring him joy.
