The 2025 East Fairmont Bees boy's tennis season has come to a close with a loss to #1 Charleston Catholic in the semifinals of the WV State Tournament team competition, while our singles and doubles players also played unbelievably tough but bowed out before the championship matches as well (which were represented ONLY by Charleston Catholic and Williamstown, two annual powerhouses).

This has been undoubtedly the greatest two-year stretch in program history, highlighted by the following awards/accolades:

Day 1 of the WV State Tennis Tournament is a wrap as #5 East Fairmont (17-1) avenges their only loss of the season and defeats #4 Moorefield (15-7) by the score of 4-1 in the quarterfinals of the team competition, before losing to #1 Charleston Catholic in the semifinals.

This is the second consecutive season that the Bees avenged their only loss from the regular season in the postseason!

For tomorrow, play will continue at the Charleston Catholic Athletic Complex as the team championships will take place at 8:00 a.m., with the singles and doubles draws to begin immediately thereafter.

In the event of inclement weather, the tournament will be moved indoors to the YMCA, which is about a mile away from the CCAC.

In singles action, the Bees have the following players in the draw:

Putting in the work at states the day before the team match against Moorefield!

The AA/A team brackets have been posted for states, and East Fairmont (16-1) has been awarded the #5 seed and will face off against #4 seed Moorefield (15-6) in the first round of the WV State Tennis Tournament on Thursday in Charleston.

This is a rematch of an earlier matchup in April in which Moorefield defeated East Fairmont 4-3 in Fairmont.

The winner of that match will face the winner of #1 Charleston Catholic vs. #8 Keyser in the semifinals.

The East Fairmont boy's tennis team returns from the Region 1 AA/A Tennis Tournament at John Marshall High School with the following accolades after securing 6 of the 7 available state tournament qualifying spots between the team competition, singles, and doubles:

*East Fairmont: Team Champions for the second-consecutive season and State Tournament Qualifiers currently holding an overall record of 16-1.
*Hunter Bragg: Singles Champion and State Qualifier.
*Haydyn Dudash: Singles Runner-Up and State Qualifier.
*Kollin Maxey: Singles 3rd Place and State Qualifier.
*Hunter Bragg/Haydyn Dudash: Doubles Champions and State Qualifiers.
*Kollin Maxey/Isaiah Ferrell: Doubles Runner-Ups and State Qualifiers.
*Braedon Thompson/Adam Morris: Doubles Quarterfinalists

The Bees will take a much needed day off before returning to practice on Friday in preparation for the WV State Tennis Tournament which is scheduled to be held from 5/14 - 5/17 in Charleston at multiple locations.

AAA will begin playing at the Kanawha City Community Center while AA/A will begin playing at the Charleston Catholic Athletic Complex. Some matches may also be played at the Charleston YMCA and Charleston Tennis Club.

Brackets will be posted when available, likely the beginning of next week after the seedings meeting on Sunday takes place.

Day 2 of the Region 1 AA/A Tournament is in the books as East Fairmont's #1 doubles team of Hunter Bragg and Haydyn Dudash defeats East Fairmont's #2 doubles team of Kollin Maxey and Isaiah Ferrell in the Regional Doubles Championship!

With their finals appearances, both teams qualify for states!

Tomorrow, singles will continue at either John Marshall High School (outdoors) or Wheeling Park (indoors) depending on the weather. The first round of boys was completed today and then halted to allow the girls (who have substantially more players in the tournament) time to catch up with the boys.

The East Fairmont boys have now won the team tournament and the doubles tournament, defeating their own teammates in the doubles championship!

Back-to-back!

The East Fairmont boy's tennis team is once again your WV Region 1 AA/A team champions!

After a first-round bye, they defeated North Marion 4-0 in the semifinals before knocking off Keyser 4-0 in the championship match!

Tuesday they will participate in the doubles tournament while on Wednesday they will participate in the singles tournament, where they hope to bring home even more hardware.

The tournament continues on at John Marshall High School in Moundsville, unless rains moves into the area in which case, matches may be moved indoors to "The Bubble" at Wheeling Park.
