“Whoever is trying to bring me down is already below me.”

One part of my career I don’t talk about enough?

I write, too.

I’ve had opportunities to contribute professional health and wellness guidance to publications including Eat This, Not That!, Health Web Magazine, Seasons Malibu, and TrainingTips.com.

And writing has reinforced something I value enormously as a coach:

Complicated information is only useful if people can actually understand it.

Expertise isn’t about using the biggest words.

It’s about being able to take what you know, communicate it clearly, and help someone figure out what to do next.

So today’s FIT Tip?

Keep communicating, doing the work, and learning.
.and don’t waste too much energy worrying about who’s trying to bring you down.

You’ve got better things to build. 💙

“Inhale. Exhale. And let that s**t go.”

One thing I’m especially grateful for after 16 years?

Realizing that helping someone doesn’t always require them to become my client.

Sometimes it’s a clinic, conversation, presentation, resource…and sometimes it’s simply setting an example.

Showing the next generation of women that they can be kind and strong, build careers they love, change directions, create lives that actually feel like their own, keep learning, speak their minds, and take up space... maybe that’s another form of EmpowHERment. 💙

When I started, I thought helping meant working one-on-one.

Sixteen years later, I’m grateful the work reaches far beyond that.

Good education can travel. So can a good example.

And if something I’ve created, shared, taught, written, or simply lived helps another woman believe a little more in what’s possible for her?

That absolutely counts. 💙

“I can, and I will, because I am a BADASS like that.”

I’m a personal trainer.

But I don’t only personal train.

Over 16 years, my work has grown to include:
💙 1:1 coaching
💙 Educational resources
💙 Equestrian mobility & strength education
💙 Health & wellness writing
💙 Health coaching
💙 Individualized programming
💙 Professional collaborations
💙 Self-guided programs
💙 Speaking

Different people and platforms.

Same mission: practical education people can actually use.

My professional work now includes collaborations and writing around sustainable health and wellness, with speaking on nervous-system-aware training, rider mobility and strength, strength through life transitions, and sustainable fitness habits.

Because helping someone become stronger doesn’t always happen during a workout.

Sometimes it happens through a conversation, presentation, resource, an article, or simply giving someone information that finally makes sense in their real life.

Sixteen years ago, I couldn’t have predicted all the ways this career would evolve.

But apparently…

I can, and I will, because I am a BADASS like that. 💙

“I can sit with really f!cking big feelings, and I am still okay.”

After 16 years of coaching, I know that fitness, health, and strength don’t happen separately from real life.

People sometimes ask: “Who do you train?”

The better answer is probably:

People with lives.

Different bodies, goals, and starting points.

But the same fundamental desire:

To feel capable.

And sometimes a client story says it better than I ever could:

“I decided to have a baby at the age of 48.

I successfully completed this mission when my son was born. I was 51.

I knew the birth would not be a walk in the park for a younger me, so I made the decision to attack Operation Exit My Womb — O.E.M.W. — and leveraged the seasoned conditioning skills of one Ajia Clancy.

Working with her with a bun in the oven was the best choice I could have made.

Her live virtual workouts combined with a tracking app kept me motivated and moving as the date drew closer.

I pushed like a pro, and 26 hours later I was a mom.

Within two weeks post O.E.M.W., I was back to riding my horses — who are no walk in the park either — as if it never happened.

At age 51.”

One body. One extraordinary chapter. One person’s story.

And one more reminder of why I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all coaching.

I coach the human in front of me, their body, capacity, goals, history, and the life happening around all of it.

Because strength isn’t just what you can lift.

Sometimes it’s adapting, pursuing something huge, or rebuilding

Or simply being able to say:

“I can sit with really f!cking big feelings, and I am still okay.”

That counts, too. 💙

💙 | 16 Years & Still Evolving

“I don’t have to be perfect to be f!cking awesome.”

And neither do you.

After 16 years, the accomplishments I’m proudest of aren’t mine.

They’re the moments when someone:

• discovers exercise doesn’t have to feel like punishment
• gets off the floor independently
• gets stronger after cancer
• keeps up with their grandchildren
• lifts more than they thought they could
• realizes they don’t need to destroy themselves in a workout
• returns to riding
• or says… “I feel like myself again.”

Those are the wins.

Not chasing someone else’s version of “fit," not never missing, and not perfection.

Just becoming more capable, confident, connected, and stronger in your own life.

That’s what I care about.

And that’s why today’s FIT Tip is simple:

You don't have to be perfect to make incredible progress.

You can be imperfect, inconsistent, and still adapting and learning... and still be f!cking awesome. 💙

“I am doing a damn good job.”

And after 16 years, I’m finally pretty comfortable saying that out loud.

Because if you’ve done anything professionally for 16 years and haven’t changed your mind about a few things, I’d argue you haven’t been paying attention.

I used to think consistency meant never missing. Now I teach clients that consistency also means knowing how to come back.

I used to focus heavily on workouts. Now I pay much more attention to the human doing them.

I used to think success required more discipline. Now I know support and systems matter.

I used to think workouts needed to feel hard to “count.” Now I know the appropriate dose is the one that produces the response we’re actually looking for.

Experience doesn’t mean doing the same thing for years. It means adjusting, getting better at noticing what actually matters, learning, and questioning.

Sixteen years have made me a different coach.

A better coach.

And I’m grateful for that. 💙

I’m also incredibly grateful to get to celebrate the people around me doing a damn good job, too.

Huge congratulations to Emily Unger and:

🐴 Smile-A-While a 17-year-old Zangersheide gelding
• 6th in the Low Adults
• 15th out of 70+ in the Hunt & Go Derby

🐴 Linta Blue, an 18-year-old Oldenburg mare
• 4th and 7th in the Low Adults
• 3rd in the Classic in the Grand Prix Ring

Years of experience don’t mean you stop learning. They mean you get better at noticing what matters: adjustments, comebacks, support, and the humans and horses behind all of it.

So if you need today’s reminder:

You don’t have to be perfect to be doing a damn good job. 💙

“I am thankful for my amazing life.”

And part of that gratitude is being able to use this business to support the communities that have supported me.

That’s one of the reasons I’m proud to continue sponsoring EquiCenter’s EquiTrails.

I’ve always believed that if we want healthy, strong communities, we have to be willing to show up for them, with our businesses, time, our voices, and when we can, our financial support.

Sixteen years in business has given me plenty to be thankful for.

It has also taught me a few things about coaching:

16 Years of Coaching Taught Me…

Consistency beats intensity.
Small wins matter more than people think.
The plan should adapt to the human.
You can be ambitious without punishing yourself.
Your body is giving you information, not betraying you.

There are plenty more.

But these fundamentally changed the way I coach and, honestly, the way I look at health, life, and success.

Because whether we’re talking about business, community, fitness, or horses:

Meeting humans where they are, showing up consistently, and supporting people matters.

I’m incredibly thankful for this amazing life, for 16 years of lessons, and for the opportunity to keep giving some of that good back. 💙

Which one of these lessons do you need to hear right now?

💙Today's The Day. 16 YEARS.💙

“I am an amazingly competent, speak-my-mind, strong, take-no-shh!t, forward-moving Lady Boss.”

And there is absolutely no way the woman who started this business 16 years ago could have predicted the professional, or human, I would become.

I’ve coached through aging, celebrations, comebacks, competitions, grief, illness, injuries, menopause, pandemics, parenthood, and the ordinary Mondays when showing up felt hard.

I’ve watched clients do things they once thought were impossible.

And they have changed me, too.

Over the years, I’ve learned to keep evolving, lead in a way that actually feels like me, speak up, and trust my education and experience.

My business has never just been about exercise.

It has always been about access.

Access to adventures, confidence, independence, strength, and the lives we want to keep living.

Sixteen years later, that’s still why I’m here.

A little more experienced and outspoken.
A whole lot more confident in the professional I’ve become.

And still very much that take-no-shh-t Lady Boss who believes people are capable of more than they realize. 💙

Thank you to every human who has trusted me with a piece of their story.

Here’s to 16 years and whatever comes next.

💙 | 16 Years & Still Evolving

“I am my own cheerleader.”

And part of cheering yourself on is learning that the “best” exercise isn’t always the one that looks hardest on paper.

A good exercise isn’t automatically the right exercise for you.

Before I choose an exercise, I’m thinking about things like:

✔ How does your body respond?
✔ What are we trying to accomplish?
✔ What can you currently tolerate?
✔ What do you enjoy enough to keep doing?
✔ What equipment do you have?
✔ What movements do you need in your actual life?

Because programming isn’t just creating a list of exercises.

It’s decision-making.

It’s choosing what fits your body, current capacity, goals, and your life.

That’s the difference between a workout and coaching.

And sometimes being your own cheerleader means recognizing that adjusting, choosing a different path, or modifying isn’t doing less.

It’s doing what works. 💙
