We just found out Battle Born Broncs has been nominated for Best of Fallon this year, alongside some other pretty incredible annual Fallon events. 🤠

Anyone who produces an event of this size knows how much time, money, planning, sweat, sleepless nights (and a few minor freak outs) go into making it happen. 😂😅 But the truth is, the people who help make Battle Born Broncs what it is are the ones who deserve to be recognized. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

From our volunteers and vendors, to our incredible committee’s and production crew, sponsors, supporters at the City of Fallon and the Rafter 3C, and every single one of you who buys a ticket and comes out to support us, thank you. We truly couldn’t do it without you. 🫶🏽

We’re incredibly grateful for the nomination. And while we’d obviously love to bring home the win, we’ll also be voting for so many other nominees in all the categories because this community is full of people and businesses who work hard to make Fallon such a great place to live, work and raise a family.

We may not campaign as well as some, but if you’d like to throw a vote our way, we sure wouldn’t turn it down. ✅😉

Thank you for continuing to show up for Battle Born Broncs as we grow each year. We’re pretty dang lucky to get to bring such elite competition to our hometown. 🤠

And win or lose… there will be a Part ✌️follow up post, because we have too many amazing photos of all of you to share! Thank you 52 Photography for your generosity. (Be sure to give him a follow and then go to Josh’s website to get all the pics!) 📸

Nothing makes us smile more than watching these young athletes put in the work at our PRCA Youth Camps each year in April. 🙌🏽

Thank you to the families who travel to Fallon for our youth events from all over the US and Canada, and to the professionals who spend the time pouring their hearts into coaching the next generation of rodeo athletes! 🤠

Good luck to the cowboys who won big in Fallon and are headed to Vegas! 🎲 We’ll be cheering for ya!

THE COWBOY YOU WANT RIDING BESIDE YOU
There are cowboys in a rodeo arena trying to win money. And then there are cowboys whose job is to make sure those cowboys get home. Bobby Marriott belongs to the second group.
For more than three decades, Marriott has been one of professional rodeo's pickup men. He's worked four National Finals Rodeos. He's ridden alongside some of the greatest roughstock cowboys in the sport. He's worked Pendleton, Reno, Sheridan, Red Bluff and rodeos across America. And he's still doing it.
But here's what makes the job interesting. A pickup man doesn't get eight seconds. His job begins when somebody else's eight seconds end.
A bronc rider has just been aboard an animal bred to buck as hard as it possibly can. The horse is still bucking. The cowboy may be exhausted. Something may have gone wrong. And galloping alongside him is another cowboy saying, in effect: I've got you.
That's Bobby Marriott. The great pickup men possess an unusual combination of abilities. They have to be exceptional horsemen. They have to understand bucking horses. They have to read cowboys. They have to rope. They have to anticipate trouble before it becomes trouble. And they have to ride into situations most people would instinctively ride away from.
Perhaps most importantly...they have to be trusted. Because when you're sitting on a bucking horse that's still trying to unload you after the whistle blows, you're not particularly interested in the pickup man's résumé. You just want to know he's going to be exactly where he's supposed to be.
For more than 30 years, Bobby Marriott has been that cowboy.
And maybe that's the greatest compliment you can give a pickup man. Not how many people in the grandstands know his name.
But how many cowboys behind the bucking chutes do.

They say the good guys wear the light hats, so when we started thinking about the perfect way to thank Mayor Ken Tedford for his years of support and generosity, a professionally fitted and shaped cowboy hat seemed like the right choice. 🤠

And what better hat than a Buckskin 7X felt by Rodeo King from our friends at Whiskey Ranch Hats?

Whiskey Ranch has been a favorite at our Western Market for years, and we were especially blessed to have AJ and Ashley join us this year as both vendors and sponsors. They helped us gift Mayor Tedford with his very first cowboy hat in celebration of America’s 250th year and Battle Born Broncs’ 5th year.

But they didn’t stop there. Each High Point Champion at the Battle Born Jr. Roughstock Challenge went home with a custom Whiskey Ranch Hat, too. Pretty cool way to recognize the efforts of some pretty tough young cowboys. 🤩

We’re already looking forward to welcoming AJ, Ashley and their growing family back to Fallon for Battle Born Broncs in April 2027.

Until then, give them a follow and check out their show schedule. And if you’re headed to Stetson Country Christmas at the Rio Las Vegas this December, make sure you stop by and see Whiskey Ranch Hats, and visit the Battle Born HQ along with some of our other 3C favorites there during the NFR.

We’re pretty grateful to have vendors who become friends, sponsors who become family, and a community that continues to show up for all of it. 🤠

If you’ve ever stepped foot inside the Rafter 3C for Battle Born Broncs and our Western Marketplace, chances are you’ve had the pleasure of meeting this wonderful couple. 🤠

Sheri and Joel are longtime vendors who have become family to us over the years. Not only do they create incredible jewelry and furniture, but their booth is always immaculate, their work is beautiful, and their hospitality is second to none.

They’re also the kind of people who never hesitate to lend a hand. They generously support our fundraisers that benefit those in need and continually help make Battle Born Broncs the incredible experience it is. ⭐️✨

We’re so grateful for vendors like Sheri and Joel who bring so much more than their incredible work to our event. They bring heart, generosity, friendship and a whole lot of Western spirit. ♥️

Thank you both for being such an important part of the Battle Born family!

Go check out their work and give them some love:

HAPPY, HAPPY BIRTHDAY to the REAL MVP at Battle Born Broncs! ⭐️🏆⭐️ Daylene Tibbals Starr

Not only is Daylene one of the hardest working humans I know, she’s also incredibly generous with her time, energy, and many talents. She thrives when events in our community succeed, and if you’ve ever been to Battle Born Broncs, or pretty much any other event around Fallon, chances are you’ve crossed paths with her.

She shows up early. She stays late. She somehow keeps an entire army of family and friends organized and moving in the right direction. And, maybe most importantly, she does her very best to keep me on track, which truly deserves its own award and huge paycheck. 😂

Her dedication, infectious positivity, and willingness to jump in wherever she’s needed is something you have to experience to fully appreciate. She is the kind of person who doesn’t just cheer from the sidelines. And if you do happen to find her in the stands, she is there being each of her kids’ biggest fan, but don’t be surprised if she’s rooting just as much for YOUR kids, too. 🫶🏽

Daylene, we are so incredibly grateful for you and everything you do for Battle Born Broncs, our community, and the people lucky enough to know you. We appreciate you more than you know! ♥️🤠

Help us wish this amazing woman the HAPPIEST BIRTHDAY and year ahead filled with all the good things she deserves! 💐 Happy Birthday, Day!
