Was granted the opportunity to speak to the student athletes at Eleanor Roosevelt Senior High yesterday...it was a great experience helping them to advance to the next level of their lives!

I'm not trying to ruin fairy tales, lol; just trying to be real...you may fall into lust, infatuation, and like but LOVE is a decision! God said love Him, love yourself, love your neighbor, love your spouse, love your parents, and love your children...He never added "...only if you fall in it"!

I've learned from experience that you have to first put into your relationships what you desire to get out of it! If you want to be heard, then listen; if you want to be thanked then say thank you; if you want to be cooked for, then get to cooking for them! Stop talking about what you want an out of it and start putting what you want into it!!

We are seed sowers and harvesters...that's it! Leave the growing and changing to God; you don't have the power to do it anyway, lol!

Where there's no growth, there's no life....this applies to your relationship as well! Your relationship should be a breeding ground, not a burial plot!

I was reminded of a valuable lesson the other day...my lady was upset about something and I immediately went into fix it mode, trying to minimize the issue and focus on the solution. Though the solution made sense, it didn't fix anything...she was looking for a loved one to share her frustrations with, not a repair man who focuses on the problem rather than the person!

Each of us has a need to have our souls filled...often we search outside of ourselves for soulfulness (food, church, art) in hopes of fulfilling that need. But the truth is that soulfulness is really so•full•ness...it is when you're so full of life, so full of love, and so full of lesson that your cup runs over and you lack nothing!

My nephew and my godson met for the first time this weekend! They both are special to me and have given me all the practice that I can endure right now of fatherhood! Definitely thankful to have them in my life!

The word "Try" used to mean that you were attempting to do something new or different...now it has become an excuse for staying the same! When people know better but aren't doing anything about it they say"I'm trying" or "I'm working on it" or "He knows my heart", lol! Put in the effort to progress..."Try" should not be where you are in your growth, it should be what you're doing to grow!
