Let’s wear purple to Zumba class tomorrow to show support for survivors of domestic violence. This simple act of wearing purple helps raise awareness and lets survivors know they are not alone.

Coming from a country where domestic violence is normalized and often seen on tv shows and movies, that sh*t is not cute. It doesn’t make you a strong or a powerful person. I know it’s common because children have grown up seeing their parents get violent with each other, the mother is usually the victim but there are a few men who endure the same thing. Instead of having a conversation and discussing feelings, slaps and punches are thrown, objects too. Break the cycle of abuse, start using your words instead of your palms and fists. Child abuse is ALSO domestic violence. We have to start learning how to regulate emotions and discussing them instead of turning to alcohol to forget things but then bring home the rage and destroy your home, your relationship and family and ultimately yourself.
