Lightning and storms might have ended the day early, but we got some good rugby in which is what Saturdays are for 🐗

Thank you UMW Rugby for working to keep the match on this weekend happening and we hope to get both sides a full 80 in the spring 🫡

28 minutes into the match saw us ahead 10-5 before the lightning warning happened. A 30 minute delay and the storm really hit so we had to call it unfortunately.

Great effort by the Boars, new positions played, and some fresh faces in we haven’t seen this preseason got some minutes in. First try was scored at 6’ in by flanker Alex Cappellino and another try scored at 19’ mark by wing Trevor Paytes 🙌🏼

Work doesnt stop… two more weeks of hard effort to prep for the season opener at HOME on 9/19.

Tied for TOP try scorer is Julius Rollins and Vincent Eura with 7 tries each 🔥🔥🔥

In 2nd is Ryan Burroughs with 5 tries! 🙌🏼

In 3rd is Carlos Vegerano with 4 tries 👀

And in 4th we have a THREE WAY TIE with 3 tries each for Trevor Paytes, Kieran Jones and Kasey Sheckels

It’s another home match week but this one is even better! Its a DOUBLE HEADER!! 🐗🐗🐗🐗🐗🐗

Washington Irish Rugby Football Club is coming down for another preseason weekend of rugby! Their D1 side will take on our D2 side at 12pm and then our D3 sides go head to head at 2pm immediately after so don’t miss out.

We want the sidelines packed with supporters so wear your GREEN and GOLD to cheer us on!

After a full intersquad scrimmage last weekend the boys had a hell of a day yesterday in their first full preseason match against a D1/D3 side 🐗🐗🐗

Much growth shown, new faces debuted, new positions played, and most importantly 80 minutes of fight to turn a game around after half and not let another try be scored 🙌🏼

Thank you Washington Rugby Football Club for today’s hard fought friendly! Glad we could both make the match happen after plans changed and we wish you the best of luck in your season ahead 🫡

Your Golden Boars earned a hard victory today!
Very tough first half as the boys found their rhythm and footing to come back in second half and seal the win. Subs all came on and really put the work in 🐗🐗🐗

Big congratulations to two new to the club players on their selections today by captains and coaches.

Jake Bullock was the pick by Captains as the Hardest Worker on the Pitch. If you saw the game, you’d understand the selection 👀

Keaton Toal was the choice by Coaches for Boar of the Match. Showing true grit on both attack and defense at 12, he also slid to 13 and opened the game up even more 🙌🏼

Well deserved to both 🐗🐗🐗

We are back at it next weekend 8/29 at HOME again as we hit our first double header of the preseason. See you there!
