It is with heavy hearts we say goodbye to our teammate and friend Shalie Lipp. Shalie was such a promising young fighter and martial artist. As a teammate and friend she was there for everyone - always ready to learn and train. As a fighter and as the only woman in room full of men in the worlds most violent sport, she always showed up and pushed through the hardest of days. Her warrior spirit will be greatly missed. - I don’t think in all of my years of coaching I’ve ever smelled boxing gloves as foul as hers. Shalie was such a dedicated martial artist and her passion and determination were made profoundly evident by the stench of all of the hard work that she poured into those black ONX gloves. Those battered gloves never got the chance to air out from all the blood, sweat, and tears she worked into them. I now respect that stench. It is the smell and direct result of someone who wants to be great. Shalie, I am proud to have known you. I am sure I share that sentiment with everyone and anyone that has shared the mats with you. In honor of Shalie, let’s train a little harder and with a little more purpose and intent. I am certain that’s what she would have wanted.
