For Mike Olson, baseball has always been about more than developing individual skills. It’s about relationships, trust, and learning what it means to be part of a team.

His coaching philosophy starts with a simple approach: meet kids where they are. Get to know each player, understand what motivates them, and create an environment where they can develop while enjoying the game.

Mike believes relationships come before development—and when players trust their coach and begin caring about one another, something bigger happens.

They become a team.

Through four years of coaching youth baseball, Jeremy has focused on helping his players learn lessons that extend far beyond the field—discipline, patience, perseverance, teamwork, respect and learning how to respond when things don’t go your way.

His coaching philosophy comes down to three simple messages: practice how you want to play, trust your teammates and always pick each other up.

Along the way, Jeremy says his players have taught him something just as important: to be present, enjoy the moment and appreciate the game.

For Justin Mozinski, baseball has come full circle. The game that gave him countless memories growing up now gives him the opportunity to create new ones alongside his children and the young athletes he coaches.

His coaching philosophy is simple: practice, practice, practice—while creating an environment where players can learn, compete, build confidence and, most importantly, have fun along the way.

For David Piper, coaching is about more than teaching baseball. It’s an opportunity to help young athletes become good teammates, good people, and develop a lifelong love for the game.

Throughout the 2026 season, David emphasized having fun, giving great effort, maintaining a positive attitude, and focusing on what his 7U players could control.

His coaching philosophy can be summed up with one simple piece of advice:

“Focus on the person, not the player.”

For Andy Schweigert, coaching baseball comes down to one word: connection.

From building trust and celebrating teammates to embracing the chaos that comes with the game, Andy believes some of baseball’s most important lessons go far beyond the scoreboard.

“The beauty is in the chaos. Accept the difficulties and enjoy the moments.”
