Hard work pays off, but its what you do outside of the gym as well. Congratulations big dogs, keep on truckin...big things ahead!!
Growing older in fitness doesn’t mean losing your edge—it means evolving.
When you’ve spent decades in the weight room walking every road from bodybuilding to heavy powerlifting (like Mike has), priorities naturally shift. It’s easy to feel like a part of you is gone when you aren’t chasing the same numbers you used to. Trust me (Jo) when I say this because I've seen Mike squat 700 and bench 500 but now squats are smaller and bench is really just a movement more than weights. The real strength is knowing when to adapt and be okay moving on and forward.
Lately, Mike’s focus has been on scaling back body weight, keeping healthy, and dialing into mobility and longevity. Meeting your body where it’s at today is how you stay in the game for the long haul.
Still putting in work on a Sunday afternoon!
Warm Up:
Leg Extensions
The Work:
Box Jumps: 4 sets x 5 reps (24")
Hatfield Squats: Worked up to a top set of 320 lbs x 5 reps
SSB Marches: 2 sets x 50 reps per leg (160 lbs)
Reverse Hyper: 15 lbs
Work hard, train smart, and keep building for the future.
Read this carefully: Put. Your. S**t. Away.
You clearly have working arms and legs because you managed to take the foot peg off and carry it all the way over to the dumbbell rack. Don't be a lazy potato—use those same limbs to put it back where you found it.
If lifting a 2-pound foot peg is pushing your limits, this might not be the gym for you.
Love ❤️ Jo
