Had the privilege of sitting front and center today to hear of share his knowledge. I also got the chance to connect with him one-on-one afterward and dive even deeper into topics where he’s truly the global expert.
It’s an incredible honor to be part of a department that actively brings in the most respected voices in health and fitness to invest in our health and longevity as firemen.
Hearing someone who’s coached world-class athletes across so many sports break down aerobic capacity—and then tailor a program specific to our needs on the job—was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up.
Huge thanks to and for making this happen.

~At The Station Workout Description~
Today is a 30 minute EMOM. Minute one you will complete 8-12 burpees. Minute 2 you will complete 5-7 calories on the spirit rower. Minute 3 will be a fast paced walk. You will repeat this for thirty minutes (10 rds each). If you are unable to finish the prescribed movement in the allotted time, then stop yourself at :50s to give yourself ten seconds of rest. The intent is a moderate-fast pace for 30 minutes with a recovery walk every 3 minutes. The recovery walk is in place to get your heart rate to come back down slightly before beginning the next round.
~Minimal Equipment Workout Description~
Wear a weighted vest, pack, or object, and ruck for 30 minutes. This should be completed at a zone 2 pace. A Zone 2 pace is calculated by subtracting 180 from your age (180-Age). Another way to interpret zone 2 training is to keep a pace where you can easily recite the alphabet or hold a conversation.
