Real talk!
July 4 is a federal holiday with fireworks enjoyed by most people, but not by everyone.
Many military Veterans live in Fayetteville, NC. We know that PTSD exists here. We understand it and some of us even feel it ourselves.
To our combat Veterans with PTSD, we know that fireworks can be a trigger for some people. Know that we see you, hear you, and understand your struggle.
“An Explosion of Kindness” started in 2015. In their efforts to remove the stigma surrounding PTSD, Veterans across the nation took it upon themselves to share their pictures with everyone in hopes to educate the public of the challenges of PTSD and raise awareness in our communities.
Learn more at: https://www.militarywithptsd.org/explosion-of-kindness-2015/
When you celebrate Independence Day with fireworks, please be courteous with them. Combat Veterans with PTSD live here.
With much derby love,
Fayetteville Roller Derby ❤️💙💚🖤

FRD supports all People of Color in and out of derby. We would like to bring attention to our community and show solidarity and support for our Black skaters and Officials that are affected by implicit bias, as evident in the events of the recent past at East Coast Derby Extravaganza in Feasterville, PA.
Thank you to the community, to Atlanta Roller Derby, and to Queen Loseyateefa for bringing the conversation to the table and for not remaining silent. Read more at: https://thederbyapex.com/systemic-racism-in-roller-derby-queen-loseyateefa-9baa17806f2d
Know that we see, hear, and validate the concerns of our Black POC. We strive to work toward ensuring a safe space.
We are eager to hear WFTDA’s framework, of a new strategic plan that will help address foundational deficiencies in communication, technology, and infrastructure. In an article posted on the WFTDA website, this framework is scheduled to be released publicly in August. The article focuses on rebuilding structures—and most importantly, rebuilding trust. We may come from all backgrounds, yet we are all family. The skaters, the coaches, the officials, and the fans...are all the derby family. We will constantly strive to do better, and to love our family implicitly.

Help us wish the best photographer a Happy birthday!!!
Fayetteville Roller Derby would like to wish a birthday to someone so special to us. Joe Rone has been capturing the smiles, tears, ups, and downs (literally on the ground on the track) of the members of Fayetteville Roller Derby for sometime now. He selflessly donates his time to drive hours to our location and spend hours shooting everything from our biggest hits to the love each skater has for their child. It is an honor to wish this man a Happy Birthday! Thank you, Joe!
We hope you check out his amazing work too, Joe Rone Photography... he doesn't just capture us; he captures the world.

#2020
It is with heavy hearts that Fayetteville Roller Derby announces the postponement of Bragg’n Rights until 2020. This was not an easy decision, and we share in everyone’s disappointment. Like most of derby, we’ve been at the mercy of venue restrictions, rankings match-ups, and official staffing and things just haven’t come together the way we had hoped.
We so very much appreciate all of the teams that applied, all of the Officials who applied, and all the fans who supported us. So be on the lookout for Bragg’n Rights 2020!
