🤩 It was absolutely PERFECT weather for a Family Fishing Workshop at the John E. Pechmann Fishing Education Center.

Every family who came out took full advantage of the cool weather and overcast we had that made the fish bite extremely well 🎣

The thunderstorms kept us inside, but it couldn’t keep the dedicated anglers away from learning about how to catfish in our Catfishing Basics workshop at the John E. Pechmann Fishing Education Center 💪🎣!

We had participants in a wide range of ages attend our workshop and learn how to target these potentially massive fish 🙌.

👩‍🎓 🧑‍🎓🎣 Topwater Bass Basics at the John E. Pechmann Fishing Education Center was very informative throughout the whole workshop and real exciting at the end.

Participants learned how to identify different topwater baits that will catch bass and how to tie different knots to ensure that the bass won’t come loose 🪢🪝.

This was an exciting one and we all agreed that if the only person to catch a fish was the kid in the class, then we wouldn’t any other way 🫡!

Congratulations to Mason for catching a 3.5 lb largemouth bass on a whopper plopper at the end of class and to Volunteer Fishing Instructor Frank for helping young Mason out with lure selection, how to work the lure, and where to fish it at in the pond 👏!

👨🪢👦🪱 Yesterday evening during our Soft Plastics Rigging and Presentation workshop we had 2 dad’s bring in the next generation of fishermen in their families to the John E. Pechmann Fishing Education Center for some tips and tricks on how to identify and use different types of soft plastic lures and how to tie a hook on the line so it won’t come undone!

👨‍🏫👩‍🏫 Volunteer Fishing Instructors, Robert and Joanne, did awesome with working with the dads to get their sons up to speed to tie their own rigs and to know how to present their lures to a hungry fish.

Everyone did great and saw a lot more confident faces by the time the workshop was finished 👏!
