Top of the mornin’ and top of the deadlift to ya! 😊

Sometimes a good lock out pic is all you need to get your deadlift to jump 50 pounds next time you’re pulling.

As spring unfolds, Molly paid a visit to Output Performance (OP) to train with our client James Ryan and Coach Jelena. Over the past 10 years, James and Jelena have accomplished various goals and milestones together. One of their current focuses is mastering the art of training and lifting with grace while aging.

The dip.

It’s an underutilized exercise, and you could make the case that it may be one of the top movements for general upper body strength in existence.

We often use bands, weight belts, chains, and holds to vary the effect we are looking for on our clients.

If you need help adding dips to your program due to shoulder pain or just want to see what they are all about DM “Let’s lift”! And he’ll take it from there.

Output client Rebecca has had quite the year with Keri!

“I embarked on my running journey five years ago, and this year, turning 50, I decided to take on new challenges. I joined a winter running series, caught the ‘race bug,’ and signed up for my first half marathon, the MO’ CowBell.

Thanks to a well-planned training program and the support of my amazing trainer Keri, I not only finished the half marathon but also set a PR in the Hot Chocolate 15K during the Frostbite series. Grateful for the hard work at the gym, focusing on strengthening glutes and hips – it truly paid off!”

The Kettlebell deadlift is a great exercise for larger group training. Often highly specialized technical lifts (cleans, snatches, bench presses, back squats) are NOT our first choices for beginners. Beginners flourish with high variety and simplistic progressions.

We also select higher rep ranges to ensure technical proficiency while mitigating injury risk.

We are the team training capital of South Saint Louis with over 400 active athletes at our facility each week.

If you are wondering where to start with your son or daughter get them some light dumbbells or kettlebells and run through a variety of rep ranges and exercises. Happy Lifting!


Balance training is so under utilized for any population much less seniors. Falls are a significant concern among older adults, with the CDC reporting that one in four Americans aged 65 and older falls each year.

For most of us is not if you’ll fall but when? So why not train for it?!?

Big Ups with the Prospects!


Did you squat today???

Embark on a fitness journey with our youth clients, unlocking the power of squats. These compound movements target key muscle groups, demanding precision in form and breath synchronization. From bodyweight basics to weighted challenges, it’s not just exercise—it’s a curated experience sculpting resilient bodies and characters. Join us in shaping a future of strength, one squat at a time.


Squats as a group can be quite invigorating. We nearly always prefer full range of motion compound lifts to collect a variety of adaptations. Even though our volley ball players do not often see a full squat on the court the full body strengthening effects on a near parallel squat cannot be denied.


Side planking with !

Join in by lying on your side, lift your hips, and engage your core for 30 seconds to 1 minute. This builds lateral muscle strength, aiding agility on the court.

Luckily for Brian, Coach Ethan () had him covered. It’s always helpful to to have an objective point of view. I think most of us can agree that two minds are better than one!


It is always fun to be innovative. While we often use the punching bag for upper body conditioning, our staff has learned to be resourceful. 😂 If your program is a bit stale, swing in for a consult and we’ll give you more than a few ideas!


July 15th we will be having a free mobility workshop at 9am with guest trainer !

We are excited for Jasmine to bring her knowledge and skill set to this class for our community!

This class is capped at 40 spots, the first 14 days we will only be offering it to current OP members and Jasmines network. After that it will become free to the public!
