What can we say….the month of July has been very good to us!! Finished the month with a 14-2 record. 3 tournaments 3 championship game appearances. Capping it off with a 5-0 record this weekend and Champions of the Hits for Homeruns tournament!

This was an odd tournament where we got stuck playing the same teams over and over with the way the seeding worked out. Our girls never got complacent and they didn’t take the teams for granted. They stayed hungry and played some of their best ball!

This was my last tournament as head coach and it was a great way to finish. This team really just came together as the season went on and it was super special to watch. Especially not knowing what we had with having to replace almost half of our team from the year before. Every week these girls came to play. We picked each other up when things were getting tough and we had one another’s back. That’s what I’ll remember most this year was the bond this team had.

Alyvia and I will miss everyone dearly. You all have been a huge part of our lives the past 4 years. Luckily we will still be with the club in a part time capacity!!! We can’t wait to see what these girls do next year at the 18u level. Coach Matt and Logan are amazing Coaches and I look forward seeing them succeed next year with this group of girls!!!

Another tournament another deep run by our girls!! We overcame a lot of challenges and changes in this tournament. Dealing with cancellations on Friday due to air quality forcing us into a modified schedule and then a delay today due to the rain. The girls grinded their way to a runner up finish in The Cold Creek Classic in Huron today!!

We took down a much older NWO Heat 18u team 6-1 in our first bracket game. We then took down a very scrappy #1 seeded T3 Mavericks team 5-4 in a come from behind win in the semi finals. We then lost to a very tough Sandusky Bay Tornados team 5-1 in the championship game. We had many scoring opportunities in that game but the Tornados did a great job at getting themselves out of the innings with some great defensive plays.

Back to back Championship game appearances for our girls the past 2 tournaments. 1 tournament left to finish the season. Let’s end it with a bang!!!

Our Blackhawks Warriors 16U team finished the job today in Sylvania!!! Going 6-0 on the weekend and winning the Championship!!!! 🥇 🏆 🥇

We beat a very tough Ultra Ice 16u team 5-2 in the championship game and got to avenge our loss from last year when we played them in this tournament.

Each and every girl contributed to this championship winning team this weekend and we couldn’t have done it without all 10 girls. We could go on and on about all the great plays and hits these girls had in the most clutch moments. This post would be huge lol Us coaches are extremely proud and tired lol. Get some rest and we will see you all next week in Castalia!!!

It’s been a busy couple weeks for our Blackhawks! A little tournament recap for the past two tournaments.

We recently completed the Uncle Charlie’s Banana Smash Tournament. We went 3-3 in this tournament finishing in a tie for 3rd place. 2 of our losses were to the tournament champion. We got to avenge one of our losses in bracket play against a tough Central Ohio Cyclones team, which is something to be proud of!! The girls battled all tournament against some good teams and it really paved the way for how they played this week.

This past weekend our girls competed in the USA Of Ohio State Championship down in Marysville. This was a 16u/18u division that brought on some very good competition. Our girls took the challenge head on! We finished 4th out of 12 teams going 4-3 on the weekend. 2 of our 3 losses were to the runner up Ohio Sting 18u team. We had the 2nd hardest strength of schedule in the whole tournament all while scoring the 2nd most runs in the tournament. Which is impressive to play that tough of a schedule and still be able to put runs on the board. We are beyond proud of our girls to take on these older (some college players) and not bat an eye. They never flinched!!
Any time you play 13 games over 2 tournaments you know the girls are doing something right and making it deep into bracket play.

Over that past few weekends we had 2 Home runs from Mallory who continues to pummel the ball and Elyns 1st Career Home run that came in the top of the 7th inning in a tied 4-4 game to give us the lead and the win!!

1st Tournament in the books. Went 3-1 losing a close 4-2 game in the semifinals. Us coaches could not be more proud of these girls this weekend. They really started to find their groove as they got more games under their belts. Ours pitchers were the X factors this past weekend.
