This weekend's Rec Rumble Championship featured something truly special:

🔴 10U Red
⚫ 10U Black

Both Lady Lions teams battled their way through the tournament and met in an unforgettable all-Finksburg championship game.

Think about that.

Out of every team in the tournament, both championship spots belonged to Lady Lions.

That's a reflection of the players, coaches, volunteers, and families who make this program so special.

Competition makes us stronger.
Teammates become friends.
And together we're building something bigger than softball.

The future of Lady Lions Softball has never been brighter.

If you want to know what this team was made of, look no further than this weekend.

Nine games.

Two days.

90-degree heat.

And they just kept playing.

After battling through the regular season and finishing with an incredible 21-3 record, the Lady Lions 10U Black team entered the Rec Rumble ready to compete. What followed was one of the most impressive displays of perseverance we've seen all season.

On Championship Sunday, they:

🔥 Defeated Charles Carroll, 7-1
🔥 Defeated Mt. Airy-3, 15-4
🔥 Defeated Westminster 4, 12-2
🔥 Defeated Westminster 1, 12-5

Four wins. Four tough opponents. One trip to the championship game.

But this season was never just about wins.

For many of these girls, this was their first year playing softball.

Many had never experienced tournament softball.

Most had never played more than one game in a single day.

Yet every challenge that came their way was met with determination, resilience, and a refusal to quit.

They cheered for one another.
They picked each other up.
They battled through exhaustion.
And they kept believing.

When the dust settled, they found themselves playing for a championship against their fellow Lady Lions in an unforgettable all-Finksburg final.

Runner-up doesn't begin to tell the story.

This team grew together, competed together, and accomplished more than anyone could have imagined at the start of the season.

To the players, coaches, and families: be proud.

A 21-3 season is remarkable.

The way you achieved it is even more impressive.

Some seasons are measured by wins and losses.

This one will be remembered for so much more.

From Opening Day to the final out of the Rec Rumble, the girls of 10U Red showed what can happen when hard work, teamwork, and belief in one another come together.

Every player improved throughout the season. Every player contributed. Every player played a role in this team's success.

Along the way, they compiled a remarkable 10-4-1 record, consistently playing outstanding softball and supporting each other through every challenge.

When the Rec Rumble arrived, they elevated their game even further—storming through the winner's bracket and earning their spot in an unforgettable championship showdown.

And what a championship it was.

Not against a rival from another town.
Not against a team they had never met.

Against their sisters in black.

Two Lady Lions teams. One championship. One community.

In a game that showcased everything great about youth sports, 10U Red battled to a thrilling 9-8 victory to capture the title, but the score only tells part of the story. The respect, determination, sportsmanship, and heart displayed by both teams made the day truly special.

To the players: thank you for your effort, your energy, and the way you represented Lady Lions Softball.

To the coaches and families: thank you for your time, encouragement, and support.

And to this team: congratulations on a season filled with growth, friendship, memories, and a championship that was earned every step of the way.

Today, some of our Lady Lions will be representing Finksburg in the league All-Star Games, and we couldn't be more proud!

🥎 10U All-Star Game – 12:00 PM (Field 2)

These players have worked hard all season, demonstrated great sportsmanship, and earned the opportunity to showcase their skills alongside some of the area's best young softball players.
