18+YO social dance club for modern western square dancers providing lessons & dances Sept thru June. Our Goal. Flutterwheelers know how to have fun.

The Hunterdon Flutterwheels Square Dance Club is a vibrant dance community that embraces Western Square Dancing. We dance an alternating Mainstream and Plus program at the Hunterdon County Complex on the first and third Fridays from mid-September to early June. Not only do we enjoy dancing together, we build friendships. Our members are what makes us a great group of people to be around. Visit one of our dances and find out for yourself! Learn to Square Dance. The Flutterwheels sponsor beginner's square dance lessons each year in cooperation with the Hunterdon County Division of Parks and Recreation. Our club caller makes lessons fun and our experienced club members lend a hand. Come join the fun - our next Open House is on Sunday, September 14, 2025 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm.

Novice & experienced dancers alike are invited to our club’s annual fall dance party to mark the start of the 2026-2027 dance year for the many square dance clubs in the Northern NJ Square Dance Association (aka NNJSDA)! Enjoy introductory dance instruction and refreshments during breaks. Come alone, as a couple or with a group of friends. Adults only. No special clothing or gear involved. Wear comfy closed toe, soft soled shoes. Learn about the many physical, mental & social benefits of modern Western square dancing. Once you’ve enjoyed our dance party, consider signing up for our fall/winter beginner lessons.

As one dance season came to a close & a new one commenced, 40 dancers enjoyed this year’s ice cream social dance! We danced with guests from three other clubs to alternating tips called by Paul Ingis.

We celebrated & welcomed 11 new Mainstream dancers at our recent World Sea Turtle Day themed dance held at the Hunterdon County Senior Center!

Our last club dance of the 2025-26 season features calls by Paul Ingis!

Along with hosting our annual ice cream social, we’re paying tribute to this outdoor entertainment phenomenon by recognizing National Drive-in Movie Day.

Bring in your favorite movie snack or ice cream topping to share as we enjoy ice cream between tips.
