Owen, Cane Creek, North Buncombe, and Hominy Valley pools will close for the season after this Sunday, August 10.
Erwin Pool will stay open through Monday, September 1. However, the pool will be closed on weekdays from August 25 to 29.
Buncombe County Pool Hours:
- Mondays-Fridays, 11:30 a.m.-5 p.m.
- Saturdays, 11 a.m.-6 p.m.
- Sundays, 1-6 p.m.
On Tuesdays and Thursdays, Erwin Pool will have extended hours and will be open 11:30 a.m.-7:00 p.m.

This Independence Day, we're all about the red, white, and blue (water). 🌊
All Buncombe County pools — Cane Creek, Hominy Valley, Owen, Erwin, and North Buncombe — will be open on Friday, July 4 from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Celebrate the holiday poolside before heading to Lake Julian Park for our fireworks show.
Pool entry is $4 per person. Free entry to the pools is available through Zoom passes.

⚠️ Cane Creek Pool will be closed today, June 25, for maintenance. The pool is expected to open with normal hours tomorrow, June 26.
All other Buncombe County pools — Hominy Valley, Owen, Erwin, and North Buncombe — are open today.

The countdown to summer fun starts now. 🌊
We're excited to announce that all five Buncombe County pools — Cane Creek, Hominy Valley, North Buncombe, Erwin, and Owen Community pools — will open this Saturday, May 24.
While Asheville City and Buncombe County schools are still in session through Tuesday, June 10, pools will be closed on weekdays. However, all pools will be open on Monday, May 26 for Memorial Day. The season will conclude on Sunday, August 10.
General Pool Hours:
- Saturdays, 11 a.m.-6 p.m.
- Sundays, 1-6 p.m.
- Mondays-Fridays, 11:30 a.m.-5 p.m.

NEW LOCATION FOR FEMA IN-PERSON HELP: Starting tomorrow, Saturday, Nov. 9, the FEMA Disaster Recovery Center has a new location at the Asheville Mall at 3 S. Tunnel Road in the former Gap store open everyday 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
This location is accessible for those who use public transit through ART bus route WE1.
The Disaster Recovery Center is a one-stop shop to get in-person assistance from FEMA and the Small Business Administration.
Mobile DRCs (M-DRC) continue to operate in Buncombe County at:
-Nov. 11-14: Swannanoa Fire Rescue - Bee Tree Fire Sub Station: 510 Bee Tree Rd., Swannanoa. Open: 8 a.m.-7 p.m.
-Nov. 6-9 and Nov. 15-18: Buncombe County Sports Park (Parking Lot): 58 Apac Dr., Asheville. Open: 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

🗳️ Early Voting is happening NOW (and this weekend)! 🗳️
Get ahead of Election Day by voting early. Polls are open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Nov. 1, and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Nov. 2. Don't forget: you’ll need a photo ID to vote! This can be an NC driver’s license, voter ID, or another accepted form of identification.

Apply in-person: Buncombe County Health and Human Services, 40 Coxe Ave, Asheville, NC, 28801, from Oct. 18-24, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. If you are unable to go in-person to apply, you can fill out an authorization form and send an authorized representative in their place. Eligibility: You must live in one of the eligible counties and have suffered losses from Hurricane Helene.
