Flint Sho Bu Do Jujitsu

Geromel Sensie will begin to teach class tonight at 6 PM. Everyone should know how to defend themselves in these troubled and often violent times. Come and learn Jujitsu a traditional Japanese martial art for self defense.

Sho Bu Do Jujitsu is not meeting at this time. We will post when we continue classes.

Please excuse my sarcasm. I do think it is better to be safe than sorry even if I don't like it.

We will not be meeting for Sho Bu Do Jujitsu classes for at least three weeks given the Governor's new lockdown orders. We will resume class when she decides we can start living again. We will keep you posted.

We had our 2nd class last night and went over simple techniques, more sword techniques such as drawing and cutting. We covered punches, blocks and punching, and what we call close the window open the door, all without touching and social distancing. Its not the same as working out with an 'uke' (partner), but it helps get back into practice.

It was so good to see everyone out last night for class. It has been three months. We had class, practiced 'social distancing', and did not touch each other. We did this by imagining an attacker and practicing a defense. We worked on kicks and finished class with some sword cuts using a boken.

Good news. Sensei will start classes again on Tuesday, June 9. He will be at the Dojo at 5:30 PM.

We will begin classes again as soon as it is safe to do so. When we do start up we will be teaching sword and jo staff katas without coming into direct contact with other. An announcement will be made prior to our re-opening. Until then be safe.

Flint Sho Bu Do Jujitsu classes are canceled until further notice because of the Corona Virus. Notice will be given when classes resume. Be safe!

They say the third time is a charm so here it is. Tuesday Jan. 21, 2020, and that is my final answer.

I am sorry, I meant Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2020 when our next class meets. My bad!

No class tonight. We will be having class on Tuesday Jan. 24, 2020 at 6:00 PM- 7:30 PM. All are welcome, children should be at least 7 years of age accompanied by an adult. 1st two classes are free.
