Beno, Patterson and Kelly with 2H. Shaklee with 3RBI. Dean, Beno and Goesel combine to strike out 11.

14U is rolling up at The Rock in Franklin, WI today, beating two separate PTA teams by a combined score of 21-5.

In game 1, a slaughter rule victory, Estock with a grand slam while Myles had 2H and 3RBI. Leahy was stellar on the mound, allowing just 5H and 1R over 4 full innings.

In game 2, Leahy collected 2H and scored 2R, Jones Homered, and Goesel had 2RBI. Estock and Goesel combined for 11K, while allowing just 5H in the contest.

The boys are in action again tomorrow at 12pm.

It was a big weekend for the Firebirds.

The 2026 Flossmoor Firecracker Tournament is in the books, and 12U was able to take 2nd place at the Whiteford 4th of July All Star Tournament out in Joliet, and 10U took the runner up at the Firecracker!

When we decided to revive this long-standing FBBSB tradition, we hoped for a great weekend of baseball, softball, and community. Mother Nature had other ideas.

The storms left us with flooded fields, downed trees, and a lot of uncertainty. Thanks to the work of field crew head Tom Sullivan, we were able to get three of our four fields ready for play on Sunday.

A huge thank you to our friends and sponsors at TNA Landscaping. Within about an hour of the storms passing, they had a crew on site removing the large tree that had fallen onto D-BAT Schererville Bronco Field and repairing the fence. Despite that incredible effort, the field itself simply had too much standing water to become playable.

That's when Homewood Baseball and Softball stepped in. They reached out and simply asked, "How can we help?" They opened their fields so our 10U division could finish the tournament. Thank you to Angie and Scott, and everyone at Homewood Baseball and Softball. Your generosity made a huge difference, and we won't forget it.

Finally, thank you to every team, player, coach, family, volunteer, sponsor, and board member who stuck with us through all the schedule changes. Youth baseball and softball aren't the most important things after a weekend like this, but for a few hours, they gave kids a chance to get back on the field and families a chance to be together.

We really do live in a special community.

Bracket play to commence Sat/Sun based on seeding.

13U has a double header friday against the Frankfort Square Raptors, 2pm and 4pm.

14U plays their last tournament Monday/Tuesday, at the Franklin Field 14U Championship in Franklin. Their run starts with a doubleheader against PTA White at 10:15 and 12:20 Monday.

Midweek Firebirds round-up!

10U vis at home on Sunday against the Brookfield Nationals at 2:30pm on D-BAT Schererville Bronco Field.

11U hits the road Saturday morning at 11am to take on the Lockport Cobras.

12U Starts the Frankfort Square Battle at the Creek tournament tonight at 7:45 against the Lincoln-Way Blue Demons. Pool Play continues Saturday at 4pm against the Bolingbrook Rampage. Both games will take place at Union Creek Fields in Tinley Park, with bracket play to commence on Sunday morning.

13U whalloped the Evergreen Park Ghosts last night 16-1. 5RBI for Myles, 3 for Roberts and 2 for Grajales. They commence the Frankfort Square Battle at the Creek on Thurday vs. the New Lenox Rebels at 5:45pm at Hunter Prairie Park in Frankfort, with more games throughout the weekend. Watch this space for updates.

14U has a home game tonight at Marian Catholic High School. They take on the Top Tier Nationals at 5:45pm. 14U then commences the Purdue Invitational at South Suburban Collage in South Holland on Thursday at 9am vs. the GRB Rays North, followed by a game against the Schaumburg Seminoles on Sat at 8am. Bracket play to follow.
