It was a little cold and very wet, but the Flower Mound and Marcus Clay Target Teams teamed up to support our competition from across the pond (aka Lake Grapevine). Southlake hosted their annual Pulling for Dragons fundraiser tournament, and the targets were not easy.
The Flower Mound Clay Target Team was represented by Tanner Akers, Grant Boswell, Claire Cole, John Graybiel and Abram Vargas.
Marcus fielded Josey Grantham, Riley Key, Claire Simmons and Liam Simmons.
Tanner took home 1st in the High School division, John was 2nd, Josey was 3rd and Grant was 4th.
In the overall team scores, the squad of Tanner, Grant, John and Liam took home 2nd overall.

mmmm....bbq.
Even the toughest critics can agree on one thing… nobody should have to cook tonight.

Come grab some BBQ at Harold Dean Smoked Goods and support the Flower Mound Clay Target Team. Good food, good people, and a great way to support the team.

See you tonight.

The Flower Mound Clay Target Team had a wet and cold Saturday at the SCTP Youth & NSCA Spring Fever 250 Open! Despite the cold rain and a 30-minute lightning delay. A huge shoutout for tackling a very challenging Beretta course and an overall long day with a 250-round total:
John Graybiel: Took 2nd in NSCA A Class for both Beretta & Federal courses and 2nd in Supersporting with a 46/50 and landing him in a 5-way tie for 4th in SCTP Men’s Varsity Super Sporting.
Grant Boswell: Finished strong in Sporting pulling off 3rd in NSCA A Class and 5th overall in SCTP Men’s JV Sporting. He also tied for 1st in Men’s JV Super Sporting with an impressive 47/50!
Vishwa Lavu: Placed 6th in a massive NSCA D Class field of over 50 shooters and tied for 11th in SCTP Men’s Varsity. He also posted a solid 42/50 in Super Sporting.
Finn Powers: A big tournament welcome to Finn, who competed in his first tournament and shot 200 sporting clays! That is HUGE for a first tournament. I bet he slept well. Finn, you did not pick an easy weather day or easy courses to start your tournament career off with.
Very proud of these athletes for pushing through the elements! There were more rabbits on the three courses than we have ever seen. One even made a cool rooster tail of water as it left the thrower. Time to clean those guns.

***The BBQ institute of FM is not a real organization, only one we wish was real and published awesome facts like the ones above about BBQ.
