πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ Memorial Day πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

Today, we honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country.

Their courage, dedication, and selflessness have given us the freedoms and opportunities we enjoy every day. As we gather with family and friends, let us take a moment to reflect on their service and express our gratitude.

From all of us at the Dominican Tennis Association of New York (DTA of NY), we thank our fallen heroes and their families for their sacrifice.

May we continue to build strong communities, inspire future generations, and uphold the values they fought to protect.

OUR PLAYERS AT THE BIG APPLE RALLY πŸŽΎπŸ’™

One of our 4 team challenges took place at Cunningham Park, where our young athletes demonstrated confidence, teamwork, sportsmanship, and determination on the court.

At this rally in Cunningham, our team won 11 out of 12 matches β€” an incredible accomplishment for our players! πŸ†πŸŒŸ

Some of our children are experiencing tournament play for the very first time, learning how to compete, keep score, communicate with opponents, and support one another as a team.

We are extremely proud of their effort, growth, and positive attitude throughout the competition. The future is bright for our DTA players! πŸŽΎπŸ’™

✨FRANCHESKA ROZABELLA HABINSHUTI-OUR TENNIS STAR πŸŽΎπŸ’™

Francheska may only be 9 years old, but her love, passion, and excitement for tennis continue to shine every time she steps on the court. Although this is not her first tournament, she continues showing confidence, determination, and great sportsmanship while always being ready to learn more and challenge herself.

A very special recognition to her mom, Anastasia, who is always present, supportive, and dedicated to both of her children’s development through tennis. Her energy, commitment, and love for the sport are truly inspiring. She is constantly encouraging her children to grow, compete, and enjoy every tennis experience together as a family.

Families like this remind us how powerful tennis can be in bringing children together, creating memories, and building future leaders on and off the court. We are so proud of Francheska, Entoni, and Anastasia! πŸ’™πŸŽΎ

✨RAPHAEL MASON βœ¨β€” OUR CHAMPION πŸŽΎβ€οΈπŸ™

Only 6 years old and competing in his very first tennis tournament β€” we are beyond proud of Raphael!

His confidence, courage to speak up, and ability to communicate respectfully with his opponent are truly amazing to watch at such a young age. Moments like these show that tennis is not only about learning the sport, but also about building character, confidence, leadership, and social skills.

A very special recognition to his mom for being 100% focused on his development and growth. She is a true role model to follow β€” always present, supportive, and leading by example.

What a beautiful example of parenting, sportsmanship, and youth development through tennis. We are so proud of Raphael and his family! πŸ’™πŸŽΎ

Our little ones are having a great experience yesterday πŸŽΎπŸ’™

Later in the day, our little ones β€” ages 6 to 10 and brand-new beginners β€” participated in the Big Apple Rally at Cunningham Park. A special thank you to our coordinator Austin Doyle and all the coaches involved.

For some of them, this was their very first experience competing and playing by points. As we can see in the videos, they are learning how to keep track of their scores with the help of their coaches and, in some cases, on their own. They are also developing important social skills by interacting with other children, building confidence, learning respect, teamwork, and sportsmanship both on and off the court.

What a beautiful experience to introduce tennis to our beginner players and give our children the opportunity to shine, compete, and experience the joy, confidence, and gratitude that sports can bring. We are so proud of all of them! πŸ’™πŸŽΎ
