SYCA Eagles are USAC Bay Area Hub CHAMPIONS!!!
SYCA Eagles had a memorial Finals win against Dublin Legends on memorial day weekend. SYCA Eagles were underdogs all season. Almost never had a full roster of 11 due to last minute schedules.
Kids believed, improved every game, ignored the ridicule and came out winners. Our best player, Aarav Dalal got hurt and missed all of the league phase and finals. Here are some season highlights -
1. SYCA Eagles won 6 of 8 games.
2. Played without arguably the best Left arm seamer in the age group.
3. Never ranked below 5 and played all games against the top half of the league.
4. Won more games chasing.
5. Every player at least won one game due to individual brilliance.
6. Our ground fielding was phenomenal all season and catching took off in the finals.
7. Top two batsman in the league are from SYCA.
8. Top Fielder in the league is from SYCA.
9. Best Keeper is from SYCA. The only missing trophy is the best bowler which I am sure we would have won if Aarav didn’t get hurt.
10. We chased down 299 runs in a crucial game on Saturday and then drove to bay area to play the finals next day.
11. Lastly, the support and help from parent volunteers and SYCA alumni was the main reason kids could focus on the task at hand.

In the finals of the SYCA Eagles U17 versus RUCC bilateral cricket tournament, the SYCA Eagles emerged victorious.
After winning the toss, the RUCC team elected to bat first, hoping to capitalize on the morning conditions that would favor the batsmen. However, the SYCA Eagles bowlers restricted the RUCC batting lineup by taking wickets at regular intervals.
The RUCC innings struggled to gain momentum, losing wickets consistently. At one point, the RUCC scorecard looked dire at 7 wickets for only 65 runs. It seemed that the RUCC innings would fold under 100 runs.
Then Rishabh provided a much-needed spark, scoring a brisk 32 runs off just 17 balls. His aggressive batting helped resurrect the RUCC innings. In the end, RUCC posted a decent total of 142 runs.
For the SYCA Eagles, bowler Arham was the standout performer, grabbing 4 crucial wickets. The other bowlers Aarav, Ibrar and Abhiram each chipped in with 2 wickets apiece.
In response, the SYCA Eagles' run chase began poorly, losing their first wicket in just the second over. However, Saahill Sabnis steadied the innings by building a vital 43-run partnership with Arush Trivedi.
Eventually, Sanjay Singh partnered with Arham to seal the victory for the SYCA Eagles. For his all-round performance, Arham was awarded Player of the Match.

Tournament awards -

Best Fielder - Navjeet Singh
Best Wicket keeper - Sanjay Singh
Best Bowler - Ibrar Kohistani
Best Batter - Saahill Sabnis
MVP - Amtoj Bajwa
