Foot of the Lake Synchronized Skating Classic

We are excited to welcome our high-level panel of international and national judges!

We are saddened to announce that we will need to cancel FOTL. This decision was made in conjunction with USFSA, our LOC and our Blades Leadership Council. We decided to make this decision due to:
• A very crowded competition schedule - this year there are four synchro events plus US Figure Skating Nationals on the same date which created many logistical difficulties.
• Difficulty fielding an officiating panel
• Low interest from teams resulting in few viable divisions
• Wanting to give teams a chance to register for another competition

As one of the oldest competitions, it breaks our heart to end our run. We will need to carefully consider the viability of any competition moving forward as the synchro world has changed and the competition season seems to be moving earlier and earlier.

Thank you for your interest in Foot of the Lake! Our LOC has worked tirelessly to plan a safe, in-person event to allow teams to showcase their skills and talents. Unfortunately, we did not receive adequate registrations to make the competition viable. Therefore, it breaks my heart to announce that the 24th Annual Foot of the Lake Synchronized Skating Classic has been cancelled.

From the very beginning of the process, it has been our goal to provide an opportunity for a live event during these unprecedented times. Therefore, we are pivoting to the possibility of an in-person regional monitoring session with competition simulation. We have created a short survey to assess the interest in such an event. Please complete the survey by Wednesday, December 16th as our turnaround time to host this event is very tight.

We realize that this season has affected programs very differently. Thank you for your willingness and trust in registering for FOTL. Next year is our 25th anniversary and we look forward to coming back to live competition with our signature event. Hope to see you all in 2022!

2020 FOTL Recap

Foot of the Lake Classic to open 2020 Last weekend, fierce competitions took place in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin at the 2020 Foot of the Lake Synchronized Skating Classic. Around 50 synchro teams in IJS and ISU divisions competed there.

That's a wrap!

Many thanks to all of the teams and coaches for joining us again this year. Thank you as well to all of the judges and event organizers. It takes a village to run this competition, and we are so grateful to all of the volunteers and Fondy Blades families that donated their time and talents to make Foot of the Lake 2020 a great success!
