So grateful for the circle of life....
In 2005 I started my yoga journey, which really started with trying to find something I enjoy after college (ending my cheerleading, gymnastics, dancing, and diving "careers"). I was trying to stay active and fit and I was able to do that with at home videos by Rodney Yee.
These videos and Rodney's teaching were so inspirational that I enjoyed the challenge and practice everyday. I felt great when I'd take time for personal practice.
Over 16 years later it's almost as if time has come full circle as I now have an online yoga studio (and have received my 500 hour RYT - yoga training - with training from one of Rodney's students... the awesome Jason Crandall).
The Yoga Stream allows people to practice yoga and stay fit in the comfort of their own home, just like I started in 2005.
Thanks for the inspiration Rodney (and Jason). So grateful for the beginnings and new adventures.

Today I am grateful for the community we have created through .online and that community has expanded to the Botanical Gardens community and Claremont Yoga community.
This group of people have my heart and will have my friendship for life. A year ago on November 16th, we opened up the Yoga Stream online studio mid-pandemic and we created a community who supported one another through a challenging time and created some "normalcy". We are still growing strong a year later and our bond has only gotten stronger. We keep up with one another each class learning about new opportunities that come available (new dogs, houses, jobs, vacations, etc) and support one another through challenges that we face (surgeries, family struggles, vaccination arm pain, etc). I'm always thinking about each person as the week goes by and sending them positive thoughts.
Thank you Yoga Stream community for being so reliable and for making my "job" a joy. π§ββοΈ

It's that time again...
7-Day Gratitude Challenge
Our challenge to you is to start a gratitude list. Take a simple notepad and place it by your bed. Before you go to sleep tonight write down three things you are grateful for. It doesn't have to be anything extraordinary, just simple little things like "my daughter's smile" or "the smell of coffee in the morning". You can even post it on social media (be sure to tag the Yoga Stream or add ).
If you are up for the challenge, see if you can continue this gratitude list through Thanksgiving. On Thanksgiving day, share the list with someone and ask them what they are grateful for. Notice how you feel after completing this process. If you are feeling more grateful, consider continuing the list through Christmas and even through the New Year. What do you have to lose? Much less than what you have to gain from the experience.
The ability to recognize gratitude has been correlated with greater happiness. When we turn our attention to what we are grateful for our life starts to naturally become more enjoyable. In the same way we exercise the muscles in our body to become stronger, we can exercises our gratitude muscles to focus on what we are grateful for each day.

This week we will be working on poses that help make space for baby and continue to strengthen the body for labor, delivery, and post delivery. Two things expectant mothers definitely need!
Hope you are able to join us on Tuesday, November 2nd from 12pm-1pm for our next session. We will be in-person and livestream.
We also have a Prenatal Workshop coming up at Claremont Yoga focusing on Strength during and after pregnancy. We will still find community, connect with breath, body, and baby... but will emphasize poses and exercises appropriate for pregnant mommas. Mark your calendar for November 21st from 11:00am-12:30pm.
Looking forward to seeing you there. π§ββοΈ

βFeelings come and go like clouds in a windy sky. Conscious breathing is my anchor.β β Thich Nhat Hang
Excited to announce that our prenatal workshop will be hosted in person and online.
Part of our prenatal workshop this October will focus on breathwork. Our breath provides us life and during pregnancy breathing properly can help improve circulation of blood, which boosts the flow of oxygen to you and your baby.
We can go hours without food or water, but only a few minutes without breathing. It is surprising that very few people focus on learning proper breathing techniques when it is a fundamental of life. Don't worry... we've got you covered!
During our prenatal workshop we will take time to review our natural breath, proper diaphragmatic breathing, techniques to help breathing when it feels restricted due to a growing belly, and using breath as a way to form a connection with baby!
Excited to announce that we will be providing a Prenatal Workshop for Claremont Yoga on Saturday, October 17th from 1:00pm-2:30pm. We will be creating a community with other moms-to-be, connecting with baby, learning breathwork, movements, and meditations that can help us during pregnancy and labor, and we will learn some relaxing postures that feel so good! Resources and takeaway materials will be provided to all participants. Spread the work and sign up today at: https://www.claremontyoga.com/schedule
Looking forward to seeing you there. DM if you have questions or need additional information.

If you truly love nature, you will find beauty everywhere. βLaura Ingalls Wilder
I love this group and the time each week. Our next session is Tuesday, September 28th at 6pm. We have the gardens to ourselves as we walk to our practice space, enjoy the sights and sound, and leave relaxed and rested. π§ββοΈ
Yesterday morning the birds were playing and wildlife was so active!!! This Scrub Jay was finding its breakfast by me when I arrived. We saw humming birds, butterflies, squirrels, and we even stopped for a moment because a bunny wanted to join us. Guess she heard we might be doing Rabbit Pose and wanted to show us how it is really done.π What a great way to start the day!
Come check out the experience. You'll thank yourself after. π
