The race start time has been bumped FORWARD to 8AM. Gates at 7AM.

Drivers meeting will happen TONIGHT at 6:15pm. Make sure to have at minimum representative present.

The 15th Annual Machismo 12 Hour Race kicks off with the official practice day tomorrow, and we will have several posts throughout the day in preperation for this weekends event. And remember, Derek and Mike will come to you live via the final CalSpeed LIVE show this evening at 7pm, so be sure to shoot any questions you may have to [email protected]!

First of our posts today are some answers to some FAQ's, plus some tips to help everyone out in their preparation for the event. (Also, a class specific FAQ with pertinent class rules will be email to each team):

• FRIDAY ENTRANCE IS IN PARKING LOT BEFORE RC TRACK; MUST SIGN IN BEFORE ENTERING PADDOCK AREA (SEE PICTURE)
• PARKING LIMITED – CARS/TOW VEHICLES/TRAILERS NOT IN USE MOVED TO NORTH PADDOCK
• 1 PARKING PASS PER TEAM FOR VEHICLES OUTSIDE OF STALL – (WILL NOT BE ABLE TO LEAVE DURING EVENT)

• KARTS ARE WEIGHED “DRY” TO FIND BASE WEIGHT FOR ALL TEAMS TO MATCH.

• KARTS GO TO ‘PARC FERME’ AFTER QUALY – START WITH FUEL LEFT AFTER QUALY

This weekend is the 15th Annual Machismo 12 Hour Race!

The staff here at CalSpeed has been 100% prepping for the biggest race seen on the west coast with over 230+ drivers, and we're looking forward to welcoming the largest crowd EVER for the Machismo 12 Hour Race this weekend!

The staff is going 10/10 to put on this event, and our own Mike Smith and Derek Esquibel feel like its the perfect time for one final CALSPEED LIVE!!!

While this will be more of an informative show for our Machismo competitors, it also doubles as what will be the final CalSpeed LIVE! show, and we'd love to have as many of you a part of it as possible!

After the tough decision and announcement on Tuesday morning, teams have been hard at work to make sure they are still able to make the reschedule of the 15th Annual Machismo 12 Hour Race. While nearly every team looks to still be able to make it, unfortunately there are still a couple of teams that have confirmed they will need to withdraw, and a few more individual drivers that cannot make next weekend work. We feel for everyone that is put out by the weather this weekend, but look forward to being able to put on a great event on Dec 9-10.

Additionally, teams and individual drivers have until the end of the day Monday the 5th to request a refund via email, as we still have to make sure all of our logistics are in line for the event, and give others a chance to get in.

With all that said, those refunds are being processed, which means spots will be opening up - currently 1 Pro team spot, 1 Super Sport team spot, and a few clinic and practice sessions throughout the day.

If you were on the waitlist, or were on the outside looking in for a sold out session, now will be the time to try and get in!

Like all of you drivers and team owners who are looking forward to the 2022 Machismo 12 Hour this weekend, we too have been watching the forecast here at CalSpeed. We understand and sympathize with travel plans and scheduling conflicts, and to that end, wanted to give everyone as much time as possible to adjust plans accordingly.

CalSpeed Karting has made the difficult but necessary decision to postpone the 15th annual event because of inclement weather, but the good news is, there won’t be much of a wait. We have moved the event one weekend to December 9th and 10th, with practice, clinic, and qualifying running on Friday, and Saturday hosting the once around the clock contest.

Unfortunately, given the make up of the racing surface, as well as the sheer amount of standing water when weather hits CalSpeed, running an arrive and drive event in the wet here is not feasible. While we would love to get in the event on the originally scheduled weekend, attempting to do so would compromise it immensely.

After watching the weather forecast intensely, it has become clear that rain is imminent this weekend, making it impossible to get in the full event. Given the reality presented to us, we wanted to make the call as early as possible to try and help out those that are traveling. It isn’t ideal, but it is the best option available.

It's 10am, and that means this time next week we will be underway for the 15th Annual Machismo 12 Hour Race! What better way to keep the hype train rolling than a look back at last years event, but first a couple reminders about practice sessions:

Half of the sessions have already been sold out, with three more with only about 5 spots left. That leaves only 5 sessions with ample space, and that won't last long. Plus, the price goes up if you wait to purchase on site!

Additionally, PRO CLASS practice bands are still on sale online, and make sure to take advantage of the online price, as just like the sport karts, the on-site cost goes up!

Now for a look back on the 2021 event...

2021: Action A-Plenty in year 14 of the event...

The 2021 Machismo 12 Hour Endurance race marked the 14th edition of the annual once-around-the-clock, with 38 teams across three classes doing battle for the trophy, bragging rights, and prestige of winning the longest running endurance race in America. The event moved back a couple weeks to the month of November, and was greeted with warm temps, and perfect weather for both the practice and qualifying sessions on Friday, and the race itself on Saturday. With the event selling out the arrive and drive entries and at half capacity for the Pro class, it was a very busy track all weekend, with the high level of talent on display across all three categories.

That talent was put on display first during the customary ‘under-the-lights’ 1 Hour qualifying session on Friday night, with all three classes proving to be hotly contested, a precursor to what would end up being a very exciting race. Right out of the gate, 33 teams hit the track including all but two of the arrive and drive classes, making for a very crowded track to kick things off...
