It's over! We finished, and finished fifth! It's not a podium finish, but given our reliability issues over the past 18 months, keeping the car on track and running for 24 hours is no small feat.

The battle for fifth place. Kevin was turning laps 10s faster than the #82 Datsun, made up a 1:40 deficit, passed the #82, and promptly lost the slave cylinder. Stuck in fourth gear for the final 25 minutes. Sounds familiar.
Currently running fifth overall with just under four hours to go! Our driver, J. Farina, has just set the fastest overall lap of the race, too.
I just realized we didn't post an update all weekend. I blame it on the car actually running!
We finished 34th out of a field of 167 , far and away our best finish yet! We had no mechanical issues until the last hour of the race, when the clutch pedal stopped working for Tim Bucklin, forcing the car to be raced in just 4th gear. We also stayed out of trouble, getting black flagged only once after getting rear-ended in T11.
To make matters worse, the electrical fan had a loose connection that caused it to fail in the final minutes after the checker dropped, leading the car to overheat while waiting to get back into the pits. Fortunately, this was the only on-track tow required for us all weekend!
There was some bad luck, getting stuck in the hot pits waiting for 20 minutes for an accident to be cleared from T1/track entrance, costing the team 5-6 laps.
Overall a VERY successful weekend for Glitch Heroes!

Well, it's only 14 hours later than originally intended, but hopefully now the car doesn't jettison oil everywhere all the time.
Grumble grumble oil pan gasket grumble new clutch grumble no sleep drive all night hello five hour energy grumble but more like two because I've already been up since 7am grumble grumble.
