Happy October 1st!!! Last month, we learned how to get the fight to the ground. This month, we’re learning what to do once we get there. 🤓
In October, our focus is positional domination… because getting to a good position means very little if you can’t control it, maintain it, and use it to create something better.
We’ll be working through getting on top, establishing dominant pins, controlling and progressing through side control and mount, using guard to reverse the position, and connecting everything together into positional chains.
The goal isn’t just to collect more techniques.
It’s learning how to own the position… especially for those heading into competitions this month.
Get on top. Settle. Control. Make them work. Let their reaction create your next opportunity — then progress.
And when you do find yourself underneath, the same principle applies: escape with purpose, recover guard or reverse the position and get back on top.
By the end of the month, we want you to start seeing Jiu-Jitsu less as a collection of individual moves and more as a connected system: Sweep. Pass. Control. Progress. Finish.
