Hey guys, it's Katie & Julianne, cofounders of NoCo Doula Collective π
When we joined forces a few years ago, we saw a gap in care for expecting and new parents in the Northern Colorado area-- it was really hard to get comprehensive services all in the same place and we noticed our clients had to cobble things together to get what they needed. We thought it would make A LOT more sense to bring everything under one roof and NoCo Doula Collective was born!
Our services encompass everything you need from pregnancy to postpartum, which is what sets us apart:
βοΈ Educational classes & workshops to prepare for childbirth, breastfeeding, the 4th trimester, infant sleep and more!
βοΈ Professional doulas for birth, postpartum, overnight care, NICU stays and bereavement support
βοΈ Certified lactation counselors to help meet your feeding goals
βοΈ Certified sleep consultant to make sure your whole family gets rest
Our team of credentialed professionals means you get the highest quality of support and expertise with a diverse skillset, increased availability and personalized care. We're biased, but we think you'll love working with our team π
P.S. dreaming of becoming a professional doula?! We also offer training and certification courses just for you!

Today is World Preeclampsia Day and every pregnant and postpartum mama should know a few facts:
π Preeclampsia affects 5-8% of pregnancies
π It can develop at any point during pregnancy or up to six weeks postpartum, even if you had zero risk factors and a completely healthy pregnancy up until that point
π Know the symptoms: severe headache that doesn't go away with medication, vision changes (blurriness, seeing spots, light sensitivity), swelling in your hands and face (especially sudden swelling), nausea and vomiting in the second half of pregnancy, upper abdominal pain (especially under your ribs on the right side), sudden weight gain (more than 2 pounds in a week), and shortness of breath.
If you experience any of these symptoms, call your provider. Don't wait. Don't worry about "overreacting." Trust your instincts. Advocate for yourself. You know your body best.
P.S. if you're pregnant or recently gave birth, please share this post so more people know what to watch for π

Okay, now that we have your attention with this super cute pic, can we talk about social media and new parenthood for a second?!
Influencers showing their postpartum journey in full makeup with a spotless nursery and a sleeping baby while sharing their must-have baby registry of 47 items can make you feel like you're failing. But really, you're just being a normal human raising a normal baby. Here's the truth: your baby doesn't care if their nursery is Instagram-worthy. And that influencer? They have help, they're getting paid to promote products, and you're seeing 30 seconds of their dayβnot the chaos behind the scenes.
Social media can be a helpful resource but please approach it critically:
β
Fact-check information against evidence-based sources (AAP, CDC, WHO, peer-reviewed research)
β
Check credentials and ask yourself: is this person qualified to give this advice?
β
Watch for affiliate links and sponsored content
Most importantly: remember that what works for one family may not work for yours. Trust your instincts over trends. You're doing great, boo π«Ά
