I learnt how to do the things I love again with endo🏃🏻‍♀️

At first, I stopped so much of everything.

✨I wasn’t working out consistently because I didn’t know how to anymore when my body was in pain
✨We lost a whole Summer of hiking in a place we had just moved to for exactly that
✨I was scared to do anything too strenuous in case I burst a cyst or if I’d be able to get to a hospital (yes, really)

‼️This wasn’t going to work for me & I wasn’t going to let endo stop me from doing things I love, that made me ME, so I learnt how to make it work.

So I learnt how to design my GOOD days vs my BAD days, I learnt how to tune into my body, my cycle & my pain to adjust what I can do but that I meant I could still do something!🙌

Of course, there are still days that I can’t do these things, like day 1 & 2 of my period especially & that’s just life with endo🤷🏻‍♀️

You should be able to do everything you love to do, even if it looks a bit different & takes a bit more planning.

Endo won’t stop me…how?!👇🏻

Because I won’t let it

As soon as this condition started to make me not want to do the things I love doing, or the the things that make me feel good (like I hiking & training), I made the decision that I would NOT let that happen.

✨At first, I didn’t know how I was going to make that happen when the pain was so intense I’d be on the floor crying in a ball, I had to leave stores because I was getting so weak just walking around, my thighs/hips/back ached, I couldn’t sleep for days on end with pain, my cysts were the size of grapefruits & I’d just had enough of this s**t.

Let’s face it, we’ll always have had enough of this s**t😅

But I decided I couldn’t just sit back & let this stop my active life that I loved living & why we moved to Colorado in the first place.

✨So I promised myself I would make the most of every good day I had.

It’s actually surprising to count the good days & realise you DO have them, however few they may be for you, instead of getting so caught up on all the bad ones.

⚠️One picture here is the week after surgery getting my walk around the neighborhood.

⚠️The other is hiking a National park in Utah 6 months later.

I was 28 when I found out I had endometriosis

You’re getting into the groove of your adult life, building your future & figuring out the things you love doing…then 💥💥💥 everything gets flipped upside down.

You start dealing with excruciating pain, symptoms stop you from your normal routine & you have no idea what is going on.
