The Summer Rod Extravaganza is back and BIGGER than ever, and we aren’t just talking about the massive amount of deals happening all day. We’re talking about the FLY CASTING COMPETITION! From 3 to 5pm on Saturday, August 29th, both shops will be hosting a fly casting competition with some awesome prizes up for grabs! See details below…

Each participant will have 45 seconds to cast a mouse pattern at three different targets, each with its own twist! The first station will be a flat target 20 to 30 feet away where you’ll need to land the mouse. The second will be a vertical target with an opening that you’ll need to cast your fly line through. The third and final target will be the hardest of them all: a slanted target with an active mouse trap that you’ll need to trigger with the mouse fly itself. Get all three? You’re in for an awesome prize!

Think you have what it takes to hit all three targets? We’d say it’s worth stopping by to find out. Not sure you’ll hit any? Don’t worry, we’ve got some great consolation prizes too! There will be a prize for each target hit, bigger prizes for hitting multiple targets, and a GRAND PRIZE if you get all three within the allotted time.

Keeping Conscientious & Cool On The Poudre... ~ The Poudre is a unique watershed, with cold water stretching from the high country of Rocky Mountain National Park down through the foothills of Fort Collins and beyond. While lower sections can warm during the summer, cooler water is often just a short drive upstream, allowing anglers to adjust and continue fishing responsibly. Early starts are key this time of year.
