Mrs. Jennifer Kerley( )taking 225 lbs for a ride on her deadlift and back squat… and making it look easy!

Jen has a degrees in sports medicine and years of working in sports medicine under her belt. She’s an ex D1 college athlete(full ride; she won’t toot her own horn so I’ll do it for her). She’s battled injuries and surgeries from being an athlete. But she never stopped. She knows that the best way to build a resilient body is to build a strong body! It’s also the best way to be a bad ass.

Been awhile but I hit that 135 pound barbell

First time in a long time. Could only get it with my left hand. Failed on the right. I’m counting it.

Putting the stupid in stupid strong since 1984 🤣

🎉 🎈🍾7 YEAR ANNIVERSARY PARTY THIS WEEKEND 🎊🎉🎈🥳

It crept up on us quick this year but we just passed our 7 year anniversary so we are celebrating this weekend!

Obviously everyone loves a Bulgarian Split Squat BUT have you ever tried a lateral Bulgarian Split Squat?!

They were spicy 🌶️ but “fun” in their own way.

They are for sure more challenging on the elevated leg. Make sure you have the hip mobility and hamstring flexibility for the required ROM before attempting with external load.

Try it out. Have fun. Get stupid strong.

Went into the gym last Friday with zero plan but ended up having a great/fun lift.

Even with “zero plan” the goal and the process remain the same…

GOAL: get stronger, more mobile and better cardio/conditioning

PROCESS:
✅ warmup and mobilize
✅ lifts that tax the CNS the most
✅ accessory work
✅ conditioning
✅ static stretching

This sessions accessory work included some Turkish getups and skull crushers(just for fun 🤩 🤷‍♂️). Here’s the videos of them:

The exercises are fun but the process and exercise placement are more important than exercise selection imo

“The Gliding Hamstring Curl”

Shoutout to for helping me figure these out. He also has some great versions/progressions using the barbell instead of the rings and/or changing the angle of the knee and hip

For this version you’re gonna want to suspend yourself in an inverted plank from rings with your heels on a bench or box.

From there, simply curl you heels to your butt/hips to the bench. Do not pull with the arms at all. They should be locked out the whole time.

Try it out. Have fun. Get stupid strong.

“Fat man cardio”

Set up a 18 min AMRAP on Friday (supposed to be 15 but my clients love to be late ⏰) with a bunch of heavy stuff that needed to be moved. Each round I tried to add more weight till I couldn’t.

🎥 1: Flipper down and back(6 flips total)
🎥 2: Yoke carries down and back
🎥 3: Sled Push down and back

Nothing moves fast except your heart rate.

Try it out, have fun, get stupid strong.

Mobility challenge:

Can you ATG cossack squat?

My ankles need some love/work but was still able to get my “ass to grass” in my body weight Cossack

🎥 2: weighted Cossack squats. So much easier to get that ROM with a counterbalance/weight in hand! 🤣

Get up ➡️ 1/2 kneel windmill ➡️ full windmill ➡️ swing, clean & press, sn**ch ➡️ 1/2 kneel windmill ➡️ get down
