1 Fly We Trust This Week: •12 Thingymarob

Some flies make sense.

The Thingymarob isn’t one of them.

It doesn’t match much. It doesn’t look like much. Yet somehow it keeps finding fish.

High water. Deep seams. Pocket water.

We quit asking why a long time ago.

Don’t ask questions.

Just fish it.

See you out there.

Runoff is fading and the Upper Poudre is fishing more like summer every day.

Here’s what we’re reaching for this week:

• 14 EC Caddis
• 16 Electro Penguin
• 12 Thingymarob
• 18 BWO Cripple

Flows are dropping across the watershed and fish are settling into their summer lies.

Using a 12 Thingymarob paired with a 16 Electro Penguin has been our go-to rig on guided trips this week.

See you out there.

The Poudre is still playing nice.

A few healthy fish, happy anglers, and plenty of reasons to get out there next week.

We’ll drop our full Upper Poudre “What We’re Using” report tomorrow with the flies, rigs, and approach that’s been getting it done.

See you out there.

Runoff is fading and the Upper Poudre is starting to settle into shape.

Mornings have been the ticket. Water clarity improves early, fish are looking up more often, and caddis are becoming a bigger part of the conversation.

What we’re reaching for:
• 18 Pink San Juan
• 16 Electro Penguin
• 12 Thingymarob
• 14 EC Caddis

Fish early. Watch clarity. See you out there.

1 Fly We Trust: •16 Electro Penguin

On most days on the Poudre, this fly earns its place below a •12 Thingamabob as one of our most reliable droppers.

It sinks quickly, fishes clean, and continues producing when conditions shift.

The Thingymarob grabs the attention.

The Electro Penguin seals the deal.

Available only at .

See you out there.

WHAT WE’RE FISHING THIS WEEK

The Upper Poudre is settling down and the fish are looking up.

We’re still leaning heavily on the •16 Electro Penguin. It continues to move fish in higher water and has been one of our most consistent patterns through runoff. Especially when paired the •12 Thingymarob.

Fish early. Stay mobile.

See you out there.

Upper Poudre runoff is finally starting to stabilize.

Still high. Still pushy.
But the windows are getting longer.

Cooler temps and nearly melted-out snowpack are helping the river hold shape deeper into the day. Fish are sliding into softer seams, inside edges, and slower walking-speed water.

What we’re throwing:
• 18 Pink San Juan
• 12 Thingymarob
• 16 Electro Penguin
• 14 EC Caddis

Early mornings are still your best shot before any afternoon storms roll through.

See you out there.
