5 Steps to Finding Peace with Your Past – practical, honest, and healing:



1. Acknowledge What Happened (Without Sugarcoating It)

You can’t heal what you won’t admit. Be real about the pain, the decisions, and the people involved—no excuses, no denial. This is the foundation of true peace.



2. Accept That You Can’t Change It

Acceptance isn’t approval—it’s freedom. You can’t rewrite history, but you can stop letting it control your present. Let go of the “what ifs” and focus on the “what now?”



3. Forgive—Them and You

Forgiveness isn’t saying it was okay. It’s saying you’re not going to carry it anymore. Free yourself by forgiving others, and just as importantly, forgive yourself. You’re not that same person anymore.



4. Extract the Lesson, Not the Label

You’re not your past—you’re what you’ve learned from it. Instead of identifying with shame, guilt, or regret, pull out the wisdom. That’s how growth wins over grief.



5. Reclaim Your Narrative

Start telling your story from the other side of it. Speak from the healed place, not the broken one. Peace begins when your past becomes a chapter, not your whole book.
