Europe definitely changed my life.
Traveling through all parts of the entire continent showed me a way of life I’ve never experienced back in FL.
The appreciation for life. The appreciation for the game. The appreciation for what’s right in front of them is something we simply don’t see much of here in states.
So grateful for everyone who played a part in this experience 🙏🏼.

Just practicing, trying to get better at editing videos.
Forcing players to make reads and react is the most effective way to ensure your training translates.
In the real game players don’t have coaches telling them exactly what move to do in every situation. This is exactly why it’s so important to give the players the freedom to read the defense and act accordingly while they’re training.
In this video, I’m playing him differently every time and he has to make the “right decisions”. Mistakes will be made leading to difficult shots but this is a part of learning.
P.S. if you train with me you WILL hear the words “nice” & “good” at least 50 times a session
Similarities? 🤔🤔🤔🤔
This is exactly why I’m so keen on using real defense in my training. About 3 weeks working together and we’re already seeing him implement something we’ve only worked on in ONE workout, into his real games.
Training against real defense is the most effective and efficient way to train. It sticks.
My boy Mason with the clean move & finish in our championship game this weekend. He puts in the work and it shows.
Game-like situations.
Parents, if your child’s trainer doesn’t involve game-like scenarios with game-like defense of some sort, chances are your child isn’t going to reach their full potential. Random come drills/ “training on air” only get you so far.
Greg, a senior out of Ave Maria University typically finds himself in the corner during his games. So we spend majority of our time training out of his spot. This ensures that what we are working on will translate to the actual game.
Some full court ball handling from the other day. Focusing on 1. Bumping the defender with your shoulder to create space, 2. Planting hard, 3. Opening the hips to square up your defender, 4. 3 piece combo.
Speed stops, speed stops, & speed stops. So useful to create that extra space you need to get your shot off. In this drill they have to react to whatever direction I tell them to go, then speed stop into their shot.
Working on creating and attacking that open space to avoid the help defense. Jabs & Shoulder bumps are really effective ways to get that annoying aggressive defender to back up off you.
Trying to improve his ability to decelerate through the "punch". He lacks a little confidence in his ability to decelerate efficiently. Hence why he doesn't go full speed before he stops. Decelerating the right way is a concept so many struggle to perfect.
Using this drill to train that ⬆️ , and develop some reaction by making him wait until he stops to tell him where to go...
Last warm up exercise I use to help prime the handles and really work on getting a quick shot up out of the single move. The ability to get that shot up fast is often times undertrained.
I'll never understand why.
