« We swam with whales for the first time in 2000 in Bora Bora. What stays with us, more than the memory itself, is how little has changed in the way these encounters make us feel—and how much has changed in how we understand our responsibility toward the ocean.
Back then, whale watching in French Polynesia was not common practice. In 2001, Rodolphe began learning how to approach whales responsibly under the guidance of a leading marine mammal biologist. That education shaped everything that followed: a passion rooted not in spectacle, but in respect.
For more than 25 years, swimming with whales has been part of our lives. Our children were introduced to these encounters in the open ocean before the age of three—not as tourists, but as quiet observers of something far greater than themselves. These early experiences taught them humility, patience, and reverence for the natural world.
This year, while cruising along the reef with friends, we experienced a rare and profound encounter: three whales engaging with us in a way that felt intentional, and deeply moving. Even after decades of similar experiences, it was very emotional.
Moments like these remind us that true leadership—whether in nature, business, or life—begins with listening, restraint, and responsibility. Our role is not to dominate or consume, but to protect and pass on what is fragile.
Sharing this passion, and raising awareness of the ocean’s vulnerability, is not just what we do—it’s why we do it at Tahiti Private Expeditions. »

In 2024, a conversation with superyacht guests and government officials sparked a simple yet powerful idea:
Why not dedicate a day at sea for teenagers from local foster homes — giving them the opportunity to explore the lagoon’s marine life, understand the environmental threats facing our ocean, and inspire them to become ocean ambassadors… all while having fun?
This week, that idea became reality for the second time. Thanks to the invaluable support of Hilton Hotel Tahiti and shark specialist Dr. Clémentine Séguigne from IREMP, several young girls experienced an immersive and educational day at sea — discovering, learning, and connecting with the ocean in a meaningful way.
There is nothing more rewarding than seeing a child’s smile.
This initiative is part of YachtAid Global’s Operation Turu.
Thank you to the local media for amplifying this collective effort and helping us spread the message.

Galápagos: a world apart where thanks to huge conservation efforts, one can witness the beauty of a populated healthy ocean. And as an example of species being able to share the same habitat - Galápagos also features endemic giant turtles sharing their land habitat with cows! To sum up: what a unique place this is.
