Once your core can control movement, it also has to be able to create it without losing that control.

That’s where a lot of people hit a ceiling.

They can hold a plank.
They can brace when they think about it.

But when movement is introduced; rotation, bending, shifting weight, that control disappears.

Your core isn’t separate from the rest of your body.
It’s the link between your upper and lower halves.

So when it can’t move efficiently in all directions, everything else has to compensate:

- Hips get restricted
- Shoulders take on more stress
- Movement becomes less coordinated

Training flexion, extension, rotation, and lateral movement (under control) builds a core that actually works with your body instead of against it.

That’s what carries over to:

- Lifting heavier with better form
- Moving more efficiently
- Feeling stronger outside of the gym, not just in it

It’s not about choosing between movement or stability.
It’s about building both so they work together.

When most people think of anti-movement core work, they think of planks or side planks.

And those are solid starting points.

But anti-movement isn’t limited to static holds, it shows up in a wide range of movements where your core is working to resist force and maintain position.

Squats and Deadlifts challenge anti-flexion (Bracing)
Planks and rollouts challenge anti-extension.
Single-arm work and carries challenge anti-rotation and lateral stability.

Different exercises, same underlying demand:
your ability to control your spine while force is acting on your body from different directions.
That’s where the idea of "360° control” comes from.

Because in real life and in training, force isn’t always predictable or perfectly balanced.
Your core’s role is to respond to that without losing position or letting other areas take over.

Expanding beyond just one or two variations builds a more complete foundation and gives you more options to train it effectively.

Anti-movement isn’t one exercise. It’s a function your core needs to handle across a lot of different situations.

What's my training style?

I don't believe that there's a one way training method that can work for everybody.

Just like our nutrition every person's body has different needs, exercise is no different.

My job is to find what my client needs and create a customized training program they enjoy.

Reducing chronic pains

Adjusting Muscle Imbalances

Improving Balance & Stability

Gain Muscle

Lose Body Fat

Improve Performance

The list goes on...

Exercise is a science and we are learning more and more about the body everyday, whatever is trending is just a tiny piece of all that is out there.

Don't get me wrong trends such as Kettlebell Training & Animal Flows, Pilates, & Yoga all have great benefits and are very effective at improving quality of life.

Just don't limit yourself to one way of training, move your body in all planes of motion. Do the heavy lifting and the light balance work. The best thing you can do for your body and mind is to keep challenging it, let it grow and change even as you age.
