Happy First of October! The summer season is winding down, and for our Over 40s crew, that means it's time to look forward to Vegas, just four months until St. Brigid's weekend! ☘️
Vegas is more than the Strip. A few blocks from downtown on Main Street, the Arts District is where the locals go: affordable, full of character, and packed with places worth discovering.
Here's what we found: Esther's Kitchen serves handmade pasta daily. Some of the best Italian outside Italy. Make reservations now because it fills up! There's also a secret speakeasy-style bar up a tiny hidden flight of stairs with seriously legit cocktails. Across the street, Main St Provisions brings American comfort food and some of the best red meat around.
ReBar has a quirky vibe, an amazing patio, cheap b**rs, a decent little menu, and a $3 mystery b**r in a brown bag. For more food, try Cornish Pasty Hole or Taverna Costera. For drinks and fun: Ninja Karaoke Bar, Audio Bar, Doberman Drawing Room, Jammyland Cocktail Bar, Stray Pirate's dog-pirate theme, Dark Sister's excellent patio and wall art, and Bad Beat Brewing for the brewery fans. Save room for Cream Me Ice Creamery!
Then wander the rest of Main Street: vintage shops, galleries, antique stores, and makers. Block out an afternoon; you'll be glad you did.
