Leavenworth Rod and Gun Club

Leavenworth Rod and Gun Club The Rod and Gun Club is open to active and retired military, DoD civilians and family members. The club's membership is over 380 and growing.

The club sponsors organized seasonal hunting and fishing events and conducts meetings the second Wednesday of each month, with a dinner social prior. In addition, the club provides a State certified hunters' education course, which is required before obtaining a hunting license for those born on or after July 1, 1957 or for those who hunt on the military installation regardless of age. The Rod & Gun Club manages dog boarding kennels, which are available on a short-term or long-term basis. The club is family oriented, so bring your entire clan and join us. Report from the field is in from another youth hunter, Leanne Richards wife of SSG Robert Richards, of HQ, USDB took her son Gary Richards who is 11 years old out for youth season on Fort Leavenworth.

​Our 11-year-old son just harvested his very first deer, and we couldn't be prouder parents! Watching him put in the patience, keep his cool when the moment mattered, and make a clean shot was incredible to witness firsthand. ​All the time practicing, talking through safety, and waiting out in the cold finally paid off. More than the harvest, seeing his confidence grow and watching that massive smile light up the woods is something we’ll never forget. ​Welcome to the club, buddy. Here’s to many more memories together in the field! 🦌🌲

We have our very first reported harvest in from the field, and it’s a big one! Youth hunter William Cross (son of JC) was the lucky winner of our club’s youth deer hunt raffle, which was generously donated by one of our amazing club members.
William was able to harvest his very first buck tonight and this one is going to be tough to beat! Please join us in sending a huge Congratulations to William and JC!
We also want to extend a huge thank you to the club member who made this unforgettable experience possible.
