back in the house tonight !! He got to see our little man take some hacks earlier 💪
Christian Gerena started with us 2 months ago, never having hit a home run in his life.
Today, he hit a grand slam to give Labelle High School the lead 💣
He’s one of the hardest workers we have and the results are starting to speak for themselves 💪
This ain’t no hobby ‼️

HUGE shoutout to our guy for winning the championship with in the Professional Venezuelan Winter League ‼️‼️
Leo had a career year, compiling a .314 average, .838 OPS with 5 home runs and 16 total extra base hits in 185 at bats.
After working with Gradum, Leo’s extra base hit % rose from 5.2% to 9% with an average 36 points higher than his career average 🤯
He is one of the hardest workers we have and all the work he put in showed this winter. Way to go Leo 💪💪

Rapsodo - One of the most important tools we use here at Gradum, for 2 reasons:
It’s extremely important for our hitters to receive feedback on the progress they are making in real time
This keeps us (as instructors) accountable! Improvement is witnessed first hand, the data does not lie
This report give us a ton of data, but a few of the most important metrics we look at are exit velocity, spin direction, spin RPMs, and launch angle.
Exit velocity - The velocity at which the ball leaves the bat. The higher the exit velocity, the harder the ball is hit
Spin direction - This tells us HOW the ball is spinning when it leaves the bat. “00” on the clock is perfect backspin, and “06” on the clock is perfect topspin. We want to gear our swing to consistently spin the ball at 00!
Spin RPMs - This tells us HOW MUCH the ball is spinning when it leaves the bat. A “barreled baseball” will spin anywhere from 900-1600 RPMs, which will allow for optimal carry on the baseball.
Launch Angle - The angle at which the ball leaves the bat in reference to the ground. 0 degrees of launch angle means the ball is leaving parallel to the ground. Most line drives are in the 12-20 degree range, while most homers are in the 20-35 degree range (depending on how far the ball is hit)
Our guy Frankie hit a 92.8mph laser in the gap with perfect backspin and 1600 RPMs, nice work Frankie!
