Week 4 of Summer Camp is officially underway, and I couldn’t be more excited to be back on the courts with this amazing group!
This morning, Coach John helped everyone knock the weekend rust off with some solid forehand and backhand drills. It’s always great to see our players shake off the break, get their feet moving again, and build confidence one rally at a time. Every rep matters, and the improvement from week to week has been incredible to watch.
If you’ve been thinking about joining us, there’s still time! We have both daily and weekly openings available at our Summer Camp held at Unlimited Tennis Club in Fort Myers. Whether you’re just getting started or looking to sharpen your game, we’d love to have you on the court with us.

Congratulations to Samantha Ellis on an incredible weekend at the Level 6: Pelican Bay Junior Grand Prix #5!
Watching Sam battle her way to the finals made me proud. Every match was a chance to show her determination, resilience, and the hard work she puts in every time she steps on the court. Results like this don’t happen by accident—they’re earned through countless hours of practice and a commitment to getting better every single day.
Samantha, being a finalist is a tremendous accomplishment, but I know this is only one step in your journey. Keep believing, keep competing, and keep raising the bar. Your best tennis is still ahead of you!

Week 3 of Summer Camp is officially underway, and I couldn’t be more excited to see everyone back on the courts today!
Every week brings new challenges, new goals, and new opportunities to improve. What our coaching staff loves seeing the most is our athletes showing up ready to work, compete, and support one another. The energy today was fantastic, and I can already tell this is going to be another great week.
Now we have a question for all of our tennis fans…
Serena Williams has accepted a wildcard into Wimbledon this year. Do you think she still has one more magical run left in her?
❤️ Leave a HEART if you think Serena makes it all the way to the finals.
👍 Leave a THUMBS UP if you think she’ll get bounced out early.
I want to hear your predictions! Drop your thoughts in the comments and let’s see what the DNA family thinks.
See you all back on court tomorrow!

Happy Father’s Day to all of the amazing dads in our DNA Athletics family!
As a coach, I have the privilege of spending countless hours with your children on the court, and I see firsthand the values, work ethic, and character they bring with them every day. Those qualities don’t happen by accident. They are often the result of the love, guidance, sacrifices, and example set by a great father.
Thank you for the early morning drives, the long tournament weekends, the support after tough losses, and the encouragement that keeps your athletes believing in themselves. Your commitment plays a huge role in their growth both as players and as young men and women.
Today, I hope you take a moment to celebrate the impact you make every single day. We appreciate everything you do for your families and for our DNA community.
From my family to yours, Happy Father’s Day!

One of my favorite things about Summer Camp is watching our players grow as athletes and leaders.
Today, we handed the group over to our one and only Evan and asked him to lead our volley warm-up. Stepping in front of a group and taking charge isn’t always easy, but I think he stepped up and handled it pretty well.
Evan did a great job keeping the players engaged, and making sure everyone was moving and ready to start practice. Leadership is a skill just like a forehand or a serve—it takes confidence, communication, and a willingness to step outside your comfort zone.
As coaches, we want our players to develop more than just tennis skills. Opportunities like this help build character, responsibility, and confidence that will benefit them both on and off the court.
Great job, Evan. I was proud to see you take on the challenge and lead by example. Mateo Ruiz

What a fantastic day at DNA Summer Camp!
Today, changed up our daily camp routine with one of my favorite events—a Davis Cup-style team tournament featuring Team Spain, Team USA, Team France, and of course, my personal favorite, Team Colombia! 🇨🇴
The energy on the courts was incredible from the very first match. Players cheered for their teammates, battled for every point, and showed the kind of sportsmanship that makes me proud to be their coach. It wasn’t just about winning matches; it was about representing your team, supporting one another, and competing with heart.
Every team brought great effort and enthusiasm throughout the practice, making for some exciting tennis and plenty of memorable moments. The matches were close, the rallies were competitive, and most importantly, the athletes had fun while putting their skills to the test.
When all the scores were tallied and the final points were counted, Team France emerged as our 2026 DNA Davis Cup Champions! Congratulations to Team France on a well-deserved victory!
Thank you to all of our players and coaches for making today’s event such a success. Days like this remind me why I love coaching and why our DNA family is so special. Mateo Ruiz

One thing I love teaching at Summer Camp is how to create opportunities instead of waiting for them.
Monday’s drill challenged our players to hit 8 forehands in a row without using a backhand. That meant they had to move their feet, anticipate the next ball, and find ways to run around their backhand side. Whether they chose an inside-out forehand or an inside-in forehand, the goal was to stay aggressive while maintaining control.
This drill isn’t just about forehands—it’s about court positioning, decision-making, and learning how to use your strengths during a match.
In this video, you’ll see Oliver working with Coach Nathan and doing a great job of moving with purpose while staying committed to the challenge. The more players learn to create forehand opportunities, the more confident they become when the pressure is on.
We’re having an incredible Summer Camp so far, and there’s still room to join us!

Week #2 of Summer Camp 2026 is officially underway at Unlimited Tennis Club, and I couldn’t be more excited about the energy on the courts today!
One of the things that makes our camp special is the coaching team working together to help every player improve. Pictured from left to right are Coaches Nathan, Isa, John, and Kevin—four coaches who bring passion, knowledge, and positivity to the court every single day.
Whether our athletes are learning the fundamentals, sharpening their technique, or preparing for tournament competition, our goal remains the same: create an environment where players can grow, compete, and have fun while developing a lifelong love for tennis.
We’re just getting started, and there’s still plenty of tennis, learning, and memories ahead this summer! Mateo Ruiz
