Navigating the complex world of performance nutrition can be daunting, but simplicity is key. Start with lean protein (total amount near your desired lean body mass in grams). When it comes to carbs (amounts and timing), ask yourself two simple questions about carbs based on your activities:
1.What have I done?
Nothing=low carb
Just trained=higher carb
2.What am I about to do?
About to train and prioritize performance= carbs for energy
Not concerned about performance=low to moderate carb, About to do nothing= low carb
Sprinkle in healthy fats – a straightforward approach to fueling your performance."
Ultimately have a plan and follow it. Ask yourself, Is it working? If it is, stick to it. If not adjust. We are all individual, and there's no 1 way.
