We are so blessed and honored that Lt. Tim Weiss not only used LifeVac to save his daughter's life but that he took action to equip the entire Central DuPage EMS system so that everyone can be saved in a choking emergency. This is how we change the world!
Sharing post from Central DuPage EMS - Providers Leading the Way 🚒🚑
Starting in late February CDHEMS providers began carrying the LifeVac anti-choking device. This new piece of equipment was brought to the system by Lt. Tim Weiss of the Wheaton Fire Department. Lt. Weiss had purchased this equipment to have at home should the need arise. One night while at home with family, his wife discovered their daughter choking on peanut butter pretzels. Lt. Weiss attempted Heimlich maneuvers, back blows, abdominal thrust, all of which were unsuccessful. As his daughter began to change colors and turn limp, his wife retrieved the device and after a single use, the large airway obstruction was dislodged. His daughter is doing fine and he credits this device as being the only difference between life and death. Knowing its abilities to make the difference in life and death, he approached the system to ensure that these devices are available to all providers to give the best possible chance at survival and positive outcomes to the patient we care for. Words can not express how proud we are of our providers and departments leading the cause in all aspects of medicine and patient care!

My sweet Francesca,
Now I understand the meaning of “a mothers love.” Tears come to my eyes ever day that I pray to God for the blessing that is you. My world. My heart. My little girl. ❤️

I had to document this. This is me pumping in the bathroom at work in between sessions.
When I am not with Francesca, I learned the hard way (I’ll get to that) that I have to pump the same time I would normally be feeding her. Right now I am only part time so thankfully I don’t have to lug around my pump very often but doing so and all the work it takes to clean the parts, sterilize, to even prep for 4 hours away from the baby is unreal when breastfeeding 😬.
Anyway, what I meant by “learned the hard way” was that I honestly thought it would be ok to go 4-5ish hours without expressing any milk at all when my baby at the time was drinking ever 2ish hours.😳 Needless to say I developed clogged duct in one of my breasts that had me in bed sick with flu like symptoms for a full 24 hours. It’s happened 3 times now since I had her 10 weeks ago. I try to avoid it at all cost because obviously it’s miserable to do anything much less take care of a baby when your sick. So, pumping in the bathroom at work it is for me! 🤪
Hats off to all the moms that are able to breastfeed and pump while working a part-time or full time job👏🏽 I didn’t realize how hard this would be. Every month is a new victory for me.

Hello my name is Francesca, I am 9 weeks old and I am a growin girl with lots of personality! I like Snuggles! (some days it’s all I want) I strongly prefer getting my milk directly from the source.
I love my rattles and specifically enjoy being bounced around because it soothes me the best. 🥰
I’ve hit all my mile stones for my age and my mom and dad say I’m going to be an all state athlete. They say it’s going to pay for college... 😊
