A 22-foot bay boat with a 250hp SHO — which means we get to the fish fast and get back dry. Power-Pole anchor and a spot-lock trolling motor, so once we're on a school we stay on it without spooking anything.

Every piece of safety equipment on board is USCG certified. Erik Johnson checks it before every trip, every time. That part isn't negotiable.

Snowbirds haven't arrived. Tourist season hasn't kicked in. The water is quiet, the fish are getting active, and Captain Erik has weekday openings he simply won't have in January.
